Are Buckeyes infiltrating the Austin Police Department? If the arrest of Tarrell Brown and Tyrell Gatewood weren't odd enough, we're now getting report that the arresting officer tasered Brown and Gatewood unnecessarily during the arrest. I smell a conspiracy.

Buckeye cops on the prowl in Austin.

The news is reporting that
they were tasered several times. This story is getting weirder and weirder.
Why oh why couldn't this have happened next week?
Mack is smart for surgically removing the involved players from the team, at least for now. The other guys need to focus.

Those sons of bitches...
Just for some grass and a pea shooter? Seriously, unless Tarrell and Tyrell were threatening to bust that ass, there should be no call for using a taser. Oh well, I guess with what happened to a high profile Ohio State alum a few weeks ago, this just adds some sort of weird symmetry to it all. Can we please get to Saturday?Oh yeah, where is the tailgate going to be? I am finally going to be in Austin for a game and wanted to drop by

Tailgate: Same as last week
Map here: http://www.mapgameday.com/map/412/Just southeast of stadium. I'll describe it in detail over the next few days. Unfortunately, we haven't had time to print a BON sign. We'll give you other landmarks to look for, though, so you know where to look.
Come one, come all.

holy shit, those facist fucking pigs. after i got pepper sprayed by those rednecks (for no reason - my case was dismmissed), they were laughing and telling me how lucky i was that they didn't taser me also. wow, they fucking meant it. pepper spray whities, and taser blacks.adding to the conspiracy - both of us who were arrested were wearing our gameday burnt orange...

I'm sure
it's a conspiracy guys...how could an officer take action to a man with a loaded gun on him??? that just sounds rediculous. Surely when Cops enter the force they are told to not take precautions to an armed man in a car at 2:30 a.m high as a kite. Maybe it was unneccesary...maybe it wasn't...but how many of you were there ya know? what happened happened...just keep your players away from your alumni I guess.Galloway - September 5, 2006
High as a kite?
Piss test says otherwise.Move along.

really
I totally would have tasered this guy if he was stoned, holding a gun, and wearing gangsta garb at 230 am, after getting pulled over. Shit, just on general principle. This cop didn't know he was Tarrel Brown, the UT player, he was trying to protect himself. He did the right thing.

Girbaud is gangsta garb?
You shoulda seen me in 5th grade then. We owned West Austin. You'd practically never see cops driving by. They were too scared to come to the hood, man.

gangsta garb?
as in they were dressed like black college kids? did you see what they were wearing, or are you just assuming all black guys are going to be dressed like gangstas and therefore deserve a shot of 100,000 volts.MMHorns - September 6, 2006
Stoned? High as a Kite? Really?
Are you telling me that if someone is smoking pot, which they were not, that they pose more of a threat? Really? I have known plenty of stoners in my life, and all of their aggression and motivation goes down when they smoke, not up. Joey, Galloway, if it was PCP or Crack that is one thing, but you are really streaching an argument too thin here.Wells - September 6, 2006
ok...
its just a general statement, I didn't really mean he was Plowed beyond his senses...shit he might not even have been smoking...but didnt the driver come out right away and say he was stoned?? and didnt the officer then see a gun on one of the mens' laps?? As a police officer...you dont take chances with drugs and guns...its not like he shot them.Galloway - September 6, 2006
Presumption has gotta go with PoPos on this one...
They just pulled over a weaving vehicle with an admitted pot-smoking driver at 2:30am on SAT night. They see a gun in the possession of one of the occupants - and what are they supposed say - "excuse me sir, would you mind handing me your weapon?"If I am the partner of the cop that first notices the weapon and that partner does not take appropriate action to secure the weapon - then partner and I have a major problem. What if my partner's nonchalant attitude gets me capped. Taser first - ask the right questions later - should be the approach in this same situation 100% of the time.
And race has NOTHING to do with it.

well spoken
taser first- ask questions later. Absolutely blazerhorn.joey @ Burnt Orange Nation - September 6, 2006
