Most Mack Brown press conferences aren't worth listening to in full - a quick scan of the transcript will almost always suffice. I thought yesterday's chat with the press, though, was particularly enlightening. I urge every football fan to take a half hour during lunch to watch the video.
Hog News has a terrificly insightful look at the Mitch Mustain saga.

Tech Recruiting Story
Just read this piece, and I thought we retired the use of the phrase "one of, if not the most, exciting bowl game in NCAA history" with two consecutive Rose Bowls.Props to tech for the huge comeback, but it seems like an overly inflated sense of self importance to declare the Holiday Bowl as the most exciting bowl game in NCAA History...

Heck
it wasn't even the most exciting bowl game last season (Boise State anyone?), let alone in NCAA history. I honestly don't even remember who they played. Oh well...Kahuna - February 8, 2007
Thank you for this.
It made my day.On behalf of all Texas Tech fans I apologize. I didn't realize you and yours had sole custodial rights to CFB "excitement".
Also, Holiday Bowl?

ok.....
Well, it was more a commentary on how every great game is "the most exciting game in history" but if you want take it as a slight against your school, that's fine. However, please always remember, we're not rivals. Also, forgive me for forgetting you played in the insight bowl last year, it wasn't televised (NFL Network) so lots of us missed it, and I will always define your program by that stomping of CAL.

Arkansas
Holy crap. Way too much info in there to fully comment on those posts, but I'm amazed that Nutt has that big of an ego to handle the whole situation like that. Crazy, crazy stuff.funk - February 8, 2007
Wally Hall
I just think it's strange that Wally Hall wrote an article, not about the content of the emails were inappropriate, stating that the emails weren't newsworthy. I think that a booster/friend of the coach sending harassing emails to a player would be newsworthy in the local paper. That said, Wally Hall is a horrible writer and in general the NW Arkansas papers never say anything negative about the athletic department.Bob LaBlog - February 8, 2007
So now Mustain is going to USC?
When his long and winding road is finally over, someone really needs to write a book about it. And to think he could have ended up at Texas...http://recruitingbuzz.beloblog.com/?nl
