Our daily countdown to the return of Texas football continues with yet another reason to love the fall in Austin.

For the traveling Longhorn fan, the road slate this year is pretty depressing: Ames, Waco, Stillwater, and College Station. Your best bet for a decent vacation is September 15th in Orlando, when Texas takes on Central Florida. Even then... Orlando rather blows.

Inuit Joe begs to differ
While I agree that most of the road trip locals mentioned above can be readily found between the "World's Biggest Ball of Mud" and "Cousin Eddie's" house on my places to visit before I die list, I will make an exception and shill for Stillwater.
Not much there that's true, but they're puting a ton of money into the stadium, the OSU fans are extremely nice (almost too nice), and there are a lot worse things you can do on a Saturday than drink yourself silly at Eskimo Joes. Always a good time...anyway, if you haven't been and you'd like to read about what an (extra) ordianary trip to Stillwater is like...

When asked why they named the town Stillwater, Miss Oklahoma State replied, "because Runningwater is wasteful." God love her.

Central Florida?
What the hell are we doing going to Orlando to play Central Florida? Shouldn't that be a home-and-home (Austin both times) series for us?

gettin some FLA exposure
for the same reason we're going to UCLA in a few.
California and Florida produce some decent football players.

they're coming to austin twice
in '09 and '11 and we're going there once for recruiting purposes. it's the grand opening of their stadium though, so i'm not sure tickets are going to be all that easy to get. also, as previously noted, orlando sucks.
