Make it a safe, fun holiday, BON'ers. I'll be catching up with some old friends and spending my remaining time finishing the 1998 review for the Greg Davis series. That will run Monday and we'll go from there.

Also, give a thought
to what it’s all about. I’m going to be spending this 4th of July (and most of the next two years) in lovely La Paz, Bolivia. I’ve found that nothing reminds you of how special the United States is, and what a privilege it is to be an American, like being outside of the States on Independence Day. Not being able to take the day for granted as an excuse to grill some meat and down some beverages gives one ample time to think some deeper thoughts (more or less) the meaning of the holiday.
Oh and, somebody drink 3 or 4 Shiners for me. The altitude here makes one a real cheap drunk, and well, Shiner is completely unheard of.
The airport is at 14, my house is about 11.5 I think. And it was 26 degrees F when I stepped off the plane yesterday morning at 6:30AM. It is a whole other country.

If I remember correctly, La Paz is about 10k. That will take a lot of adjustment. You probably don’t feel that Texas heat either.
