i took my game beer to a local bar, that which i thought would be safe because it was all known people and everything would be understood as normalcy… well not so much. the story to persue such actions are quite pre-ponderous to say the least.
That was so hard to watch. I didn’t have enough beer to calm my nerves. Great game though.
One thing, I really don’t think our Oline is that great. Hopefully the off season will allow for a lot of growth, but I really think the reason McCoy was the leading rusher is because he had to be so that he didn’t get sacked. He was hit very often this season.
Great year for the Horns. Exceeded my wildest expectations. I was expecting another 10-3 season.
Given to the Ohio State Buckeye who best refuses to play in a BCS game in an effort to preserve looking bad against a solid defense and lowering his draft stock.
While it was fun rooting for Cody, Fozzy, Vondrell and Chris every game hoping that one would step up, we must develop a feature back (or a solid #1 and 1a tag team) next year to have a legitimate chance at the MNC. Colt throwing the ball over 50 times (or 40 for that matter) is not a recipe for success in the long run.

Hard fought game tonight and you guys deserved it. By the way, even as a Gators fan, I called this game pretty well in the predictions thread; is that going to get looked at or was that just for kicks? Again, congrats on tonight and we’ll see what we can do about those Sooners come Thursday night.
this is really a question you could have asked the entire second half of the seasons. but it was all the more curious today given this struggles of the short passing game. malcolm jenkins is very good but i felt we gave him too much respect, as if his presence ruled out any deep throws. williams burned him, and they lost two DBs to injury, why not go fishing against the backups.
Obviously Malcolm is an immensely talented WR, but with Quan playing at the level he was last night finding open space throughout the game, there really wasn’t any need.
Like you said, if he throws a better ball on the deep route, we score 6. I still think Malcolm will be a BIG TIME player on next year’s squad. So will Brandon Collins.
and this university. I watched the game in Chicago in a bar full of Buckeye fans. Seated near me were the one cute girl in the bar (a Texas fan, of course) and two Michigan fans (who, we agreed, share a strange bond with Texas fans). I would have loved to blow this team out. But this win was delicious.
She left her seat to do something and Ohio scored… I literally begged her to come back and take back her old seat.. When she did Texas scored… I have to buy her something nice
I demanded my usual seat (which I sat in for 10 of the 11 wins, and wasn’t in for the Tech game) from my roommate, and he caved right before tOSU scored. Turned out that was a great time to get it back ;)
I agree Utah would be fourth but really it doesn’t matter. I see at the end of the season USC 1 UT 2 repeat of the rose bowl in 2005. It’s too sweet a thought not to happen.
To hell with the status quo of making the MNC the decider. It’s the MYTHICAL NCG!! Screw it. Utah No. 1. They beat Bama on the big stage. Oh did I say beat, I meant dominated.
I kind of agree with him about Utah. They went undefeated. They played probalby as tough a schedule as any (SEC is doing well in bowls, but over all this season they are down). The whole system pisses me off. We need play offs.
Just cause I can see this game as it was doesn’t make me a sooner asshole. We played well. OSU played well. But we never dominated. USC dominated. Utah dominated. I would concede being ranked aboveOU even if they win the MNC, but I can’t say the same about Florida if they win. At best we’re the 3rd best on a given day. We can beat anyone, mind you, but so can all the others in the top 5.
But don’t insult me for coming up with a reasoned list. I hate OU but I can be objective and say they’re a good team. So fuck off rbr.
Texas keeps winning in the final weeks of the season and continues to drop the in the polls. At this point I think we can say f*** the polls. OU can have all of the Heismans and BCS/Bowl losses they want, I wouldn’t trade places with them for anything in the world. I don’t care if we finish @ #2 or #5. This team didn’t have the talent of the 2005 team, but finished @ 12-1 because of their overwhelming will to win. The 2005 team had a few situations where one missed play (like the Kansas road game) would have cost the chance at a national championship…the 2008 team just happened to get nipped by one play in Lubbock. There’s a lot of luck involved in winning it all and this team did everything it had to do to finish on top. In my mind, they will always be on top. Congratulations to a great team and a great program. With Muschamp and Applewhite involved and Gilbert coming in at QB in 2010, I think the program is in better shape than ever.
We’ve got an overachieving team that just gave Texas its fifth straight bowl win, with three of those coming in prime BCS games. Oklahoma has four straight bowl losses and stands on the edge of a fifth embarrassing loss. Mack Brown is one Jamaal Charles fumble away from winning the last four straight versus Stoops. Texas just moved ahead of OU in BCS Bowl victories.
anything useful to say? i’m sure the media’s boyfriend (USC) will take it out for a night of drinks and romance before proper intercourse as they promote the trojans to #2, but we will jump the florida-oklahoma loser and at worst stay at 3.
As much as ESPN loves Texas (last play of game is the #1 play of the night on ESPN), USC and Utah may slip past them. Utah will not be voted #1. Having typed that, Texas will end up #3.
ain’t no such thing. I think we can throw the USC road loss out due to B.Wells and T.Pryor not being at the helm. The PSU game hinged on one critical fumble. This Ohio State team, while discounted, was no joke. They had a real defense and Pryor has a great future ahead. I knew that this game would be closer than advertised, although I expected the “Texas didn’t win by enough” argument to emerge.
What goes around, comes around. tOSU scored too with too much time left. Of course, we all puckered at that kickoff with 00:16 left. Mojo, though, was channeled via Obi Quan tonight. No dropped interception this time.
What do you think Michigan fans were saying after their performance against Vince Young? It all depends on perspective. We saw athletic greatness; they saw poor tackling.
Tonight, I tend to favor Pryor’s abilities over poor tackling.
I don't think you can really criticize Pryor for his performance
he doesn’t play defense, and he caught what would have been the game-winning TD and the two point conversion (that shoulda been a no-call by the refs, imo).
It isn’t his fault that LB missed the tackle on Cosby.
They had nothing more than a conventional passing game.
We had DL people back there several times and just couldn’t get under control enough to knock him down. A couple of those sacks and the story changes pretty fast.
We’ve been watching Quan slip through the tOSU defenders for an hour now. Amazing that the buckies did not have anybody deeper – at least a safety on the goal line or sumpin. Bad defensive call on Tressel’s part – good read by ColtQuan. We can’t watch it enough and the announcer kept calling it right – “get it to Quan”.
Pryor has a better shot at NFL as WR – I can’t believe he will EVER play QB. He simply could not make a pass. Fortunately for OSU, his throws were so bad, Texas could not get the int.
actually seemed to me to give the Horn offense a little time to reflect and figure out what to do. THe play before Colt hit Quan, he nearly blew it with the short throw, but both were trying to take advantage of the wide open middle.
You have to throw the football in that spot. Make a read and try to force it. It gets picked who cares. Leaving yourself with a 65 yard Hail Mary isn’t an answer.
Their best corner was stuck on Williams all night because he is our deep threat, leaving their nickel backs on Cosby and Shipley and OLB’s on Collins, Kirk, Oggy, Fozzy, etc. Our offense is so diverse that they couldn’t just man up like you could on any normal team.
(P.S. This is not a post providing approval of the Greg Davis play-calling.)
I was referring to the fact that they dominated the first half, but were up only 3. We may have put up deceptively similar numbers, but as they say in soccer, the buckeyes had more chances, and they mostly came away empty. It actually reminded me of the game in 05, when OSU also kept settling for field goals.
Even our half-time comment threads said as much, that we were lucky only to be down by 3.
Sleeveless sweater? Kinda like Stoops and his dorky visor. Did u se how animated Tressel got on that 4th down spot? Is that how they have orgasm in Ohio? And the little stickers on their helmets. We did that in JUNIOR HIGH. Sheesh.
What would we look like with little longhorn stickers?
How about an orange helmet and white horns similar to the vikings? or how about orange pants for away games? or changing our uniforms every 2 years like the aggies? ever notice that? so would the aggies put little lassie turds on their helmets?
was fairly bland, but the up temper thing in the 2nd half really got Osu off balance and created a bit of separation. Looked like it could be a comfortable win late in the 3rd, but OSU made plays on the 4th.
is really, really, really good and he runs out of room for stickers on his helmet, they just start applying them to his face, neck and work their way downward…….
I am such a SAP, I am a Big Sooner fan and I found myself pulling for the Longhorns. It is very strange, I am glad Texas won. How ironic is THAT!! However, I hope it will not happen again. Though we get pissed at your whinning and make stupid comments on these blogs, most OU fans understand your point. Texas screwed up when they lost to Texas Tech. OU fans would be mad at team (especially DB that dropped int) and coaches (internally) – Texas fans push their anger out. If you lose – your team is at the mercy of the voters and computers. We understand that, hopefully you will as well. And please, I know you understand, but just accept that the winner of the NC game will be #1.
No, Texas has too much hate for the Sooners. Oklahoma does something right, otherwise a group of people could not hate another state, school, team, and coach as much as this bunch.
but I’m not exactly wild about the Gators winning another one, either. If the sooners win, at least the Big 12 can claim supremacy. If UF wins, at least the sooners didn’t.
Unlike OU and Nebraska, Texas has this huge ego, but few championships – somewhat like Texas A&M. Mack finally won a NC with a great VY and he is crowned KING.
Come on…. I want to type 39-33. You see zE bOp, this bunch will never forget. Though Texas Tech, the voters and the computers and themselves screwed up their year – who do they hate – The Sooners.
I don’t think it will happen, but it could. USC will be #2, they beat the better Big Ten team. Texas will be no better than #3, and may drop to #4. I think Texas is better than Utah, but who knows with these darn voters – Right Texas fans. You know something about that.
What Tech didnt make this agrument, and frankly, we could care less about the BCS rankings anyway, we beat OU and we won our BCS bowl, our 3rd in a row by the way. whats on your resume for the past few years
I dunno, was among the top duel threat prospects in the country.
I know it may be hard to believe, but I’ve heard that there are areas in TX where fans and h.s. players don’t like the Horns, They like aTm or something. Maybe Green doesn’t like either.
I just get a kick out of your arrogance on the subject. I am a Sooner and it was a nice win. Someone just reminded me that it is 1:00, it is time to go.
hell for me it's 2am but at least I'm on my own team's blog
and I’m enjoying the victory, even though I have to be up in 5 hours. I doubt you’ll have the same “problem” on Thursday night, and you’ll get pleny of rest after the game.
that in 2008 the Longhorns were NATIONAL CHAMPIONS! They don’t need some bs system to tell them otherwise. Any of you guys that are throwing around terms like “ugly win” and “not our best effort” are getting sucked into the mary kay cosmetics game that screwed us in the first place. IT’S A WIN! That was Ohio State out there not boise. Honestly, on Friday Texas, usc, utah and thursday night’s winner can claim a national championship. What a bullshit system that yields 4 teams claiming to be the best. Hook’em…NATIONAL CHAMPS 2008!
Then there are NO national champs. And I think the latter is more true than the former, because you’re right, the system is completely flawed and incapable of determining any real champ at all.
What a game! This team went out with class and style - and kept us on the edge of our seats if we could even stay in our seats!!!
I was going crazy – I am SOOOOOO GLAD they pulled out another win. What amazing men on this team. Thanks to the coaches and all of the team for never giving up – we knew they had it in them – HOOK ’EM HORNS!!!
that Texas belonged nowhere near the national Championship game. Way to goo fags..almost lost to the perennial losers OSU! Nice. So the Big 12 has completely embarrassed itself so far…Ok st, Tech, and Texas….Lets Go Okalhoma!! Losers.
45-35, pretty sure its 0U that has no place in the national title game. I hope they pan to a closeup of stoops after they lose to florida in another bowl loss while texas is at home with their bowl trophy.
us fags? your team is led by a bitch with a visor superglued to his head. Youre talking quite high and mighty considering the past National championship yall went to in ’05. remember? 55-19 beatdown by USC. The team WE beat the next year
Let the sooner make himself look like a retard…I don’t think he can count either…I mean…45-35 hmm…Which number is bigger???… Just wait till Thursday…We will all have our laughs…and I guarantee you…I will be laughing…
Way to fight your way back. You did have me scared for a while, though, that we’d all have to listen to the Little 10 for a whole year. Oh, and Cosby is a MONSTER.
I do have one question, though. Since I’m from Tech and thus don’t know much about football, I was hoping you could help me out. Let’s say one team is trailing and they put together a drive to take the lead in the last couple of minurtes. Then the other team, who had been leading the entire half up to that point, gets the ball. They drive length of the field and get a TD pass to regain the lead and win the game in the closing seconds.
Now here’s where I’m lost. Is that a well-deserved, hard-fought, come-from-behind win? Or is that a last-second, undeserving, lucky, miracle fluke? I thought I knew the answer from listening to y’all, but now I’m really confused. [just a little tongue in cheek]
We were all dizzy with the win. I was yelling my ass off at the tv screen watching the game at the end. I had my bro on the phone and he couldn’t yell cause his kids were asleep so he had to “yell” in whisper. Funny to listen to.
I’m a senior at UT with one year left, and I had season tickets alongside my dad (he’s not an alumni, so it felt great that I was the one securing the kick-ass seats we had), and we watched the road games together as well. I will never forget the feeling of running across the house to give my dad a hug when Quan Cosby scored the game-winning TD. Some are going to call it a lucky win, or a dirty win, but it’s still a win. I will never forget the emotions tied into this season, the exciting manner in which it ended, and while it’s not a national championship, it’s still pretty awesome. The fact that I got to share this with my dad is what really makes it for me. Hook ’em.
I forgot to mention the concerns part: People are going to accuse Mack of not being the quality coach others are saying he is; instead opting for the “He just has the keys to a nice car that practically drives itself, having access to the best recruits, a tradition-rich program, etc.” Those people need to google John Mackovic and see how well he did as head coach of Texas. It’s not an easy job, and the players aren’t going to do it all for you. Give Mack a few more years to add some hardware to the trophy case then get back to me on your thoughts about his coaching ability.
you could make that case for all the “elite” programs in college football. California and the south//southeast all are rich pickings for recruits. I don’t think that’s fair for people to say that just about Mack.
Shut the hell up! TT_ yes that game was a fluke WE dropped a sure pick to win that game, and Ole Miss really?? Im surprised you would show up in any blogs, after the pathetic display.
hell yes
HELL YES!!!!!!!!

What a game!
YEA!!!!!
blazzinken - January 5, 2009
Reasonable Conclusion
The final score was an elaborate plan to Texas Tech tOSU. McCoy and Quan wanted to end the game on a last second touchdown pass.
That’s the only reasonable explanation.
Longhorn@Berkeley - January 5, 2009
Cole should hand that award to Quan
Great game from both though

Quan was amazing!

Utah might get the split NT if Florida wins. Utah handled Bama and beat them worse than UF.

Frankly, I think Utah #1
To hell with the status quo of making the MNC the decider. It’s the MYTHICAL NCG!! Screw it. Utah No. 1. They beat Bama on the big stage. Oh did I say beat, I meant dominated.
Then No. 2 OU/UF winner,

No. 5 MNC loser

Gotta love it...
Advantage: Texas.

Not Fair, just saying it could happen
As much as ESPN loves Texas (last play of game is the #1 play of the night on ESPN), USC and Utah may slip past them. Utah will not be voted #1. Having typed that, Texas will end up #3.
Wichita Lineman - January 6, 2009
sure thing
ain’t no such thing.

HornBorn55 - January 6, 2009
Colt v. Pryor
You want a very good passing QB that can run (Colt), not a very good running QB that can pass below average
Wichita Lineman - January 6, 2009
i wouldnt write him off like that
did u see him stiff arming our DE’s???? good lord no one could bring him down although our tackling was pretty bad tonight
hookemkp - January 6, 2009
"...our tackling was pretty bad tonight."
What do you think Michigan fans were saying after their performance against Vince Young? It all depends on perspective. We saw athletic greatness; they saw poor tackling.
Tonight, I tend to favor Pryor’s abilities over poor tackling.
BrooklynHorn - January 6, 2009
True. It was difficult to get in position to make a clean tackle when he went wide. Tough. nt
whills - January 6, 2009
I don't think you can really criticize Pryor for his performance
he doesn’t play defense, and he caught what would have been the game-winning TD and the two point conversion (that shoulda been a no-call by the refs, imo).
It isn’t his fault that LB missed the tackle on Cosby.
Beergut - January 6, 2009
Safety missed the tackle
ChiFan13 - January 6, 2009
The ironic thing about Pryor
is that he might be a better catcher of the ball right now than thrower of it. Both of those catches were excellent.
He’s a terrible thrower though. They had no 3-step or 5-step game with him in there.
DoubleB - January 6, 2009
I think
That would be more of an indictment of their QB coach/OC than it is of Pryor. He performed ten times better than I thought he would tonight.
Beergut - January 6, 2009
He actually didn't surprise me tonight
Made great plays with his legs but struggled to throw. Not exactly something nobody would predict.
TheElusiveShadow - January 6, 2009
They had nothing more than a conventional passing game.
We had DL people back there several times and just couldn’t get under control enough to knock him down. A couple of those sacks and the story changes pretty fast.
whills - January 6, 2009
Colt wasn't completely awesome his freshman year either....
With the caliber of our teams coming up, I think we will see this tOSU team again, and TP will be much better
future_longhorn_dad - January 6, 2009
Thank Gawd for DVR
We’ve been watching Quan slip through the tOSU defenders for an hour now. Amazing that the buckies did not have anybody deeper – at least a safety on the goal line or sumpin. Bad defensive call on Tressel’s part – good read by ColtQuan. We can’t watch it enough and the announcer kept calling it right – “get it to Quan”.
Hook’em to all in the BON -where ever you are!
HornBorn55 - January 6, 2009
Pryor should change positions
Pryor has a better shot at NFL as WR – I can’t believe he will EVER play QB. He simply could not make a pass. Fortunately for OSU, his throws were so bad, Texas could not get the int.

Way to represent Longhorns, both your program and the Big 12.
It was an exciting and nailbiting game right to the finish line.
Finally one of your receivers broke a tackle a made a big play—huge play!
Game was similar to the NE/Clemson game, close and hard fought and the good guys prevailed at the end.
I only wish the Horns would have tried to go vertical more and ran Colt on some read option plays. Woulda loosened those guys up some.

I love how much talent we field
Their best corner was stuck on Williams all night because he is our deep threat, leaving their nickel backs on Cosby and Shipley and OLB’s on Collins, Kirk, Oggy, Fozzy, etc. Our offense is so diverse that they couldn’t just man up like you could on any normal team.
(P.S. This is not a post providing approval of the Greg Davis play-calling.)
circa1015 - January 6, 2009
I was surprised
that TX did not attack the middle of the field with their passing game, everything was on the perimeter. Look like they feared the Buckeye safeties.
zE bOp - January 6, 2009
I really think this one was closer than it needed to be.
was baffled with the gameplan for most of the game. Nothing new, of course.
zamm - January 6, 2009
Well Colt
gave away at least 3 points at the end of the half. They managed nearly 500 yards of offense. Give OSU credit for tackling well (minus the last play).
The one criticism I would make is that they seemed to get away from their quick no-huddle stuff when it was 17-9. They slowed the game down a bit.
DoubleB - January 6, 2009
But remember
the Buckeyes are thinking the same thing. They left a lot of points on the board.
BrooklynHorn - January 6, 2009
50-plus yard FGs
are what they are. It was very reminiscent of the OSU game. We coulda put that one away but had to hang on at the end.
zamm - January 6, 2009
Wasn't talkng about the field goals
I was referring to the fact that they dominated the first half, but were up only 3. We may have put up deceptively similar numbers, but as they say in soccer, the buckeyes had more chances, and they mostly came away empty. It actually reminded me of the game in 05, when OSU also kept settling for field goals.
Even our half-time comment threads said as much, that we were lucky only to be down by 3.

HornBorn55 - January 6, 2009
Right before the trophy presentation....
they showed a fan with a goofy Tostitos hat: I thought THAT was the trophy!
I’m like , WTF!
LOL
zE bOp - January 6, 2009
Switzer was complimentary to Texas
Wichita Lineman - January 6, 2009
So are we rooting for OU in their game or what?
zE bOp - January 6, 2009
Never. Go Gators!
UT92 - January 6, 2009
No
BrooklynHorn - January 6, 2009
What time is it?
ChiFan13 - January 6, 2009
1:43 EST and OU still sucks!!!
UT92 - January 6, 2009
So that's your answer zEbOp
Thanks for the assist, UT92.
ChiFan13 - January 6, 2009
I'm gonna....
…Can’t stand FL and ‘Chucky’ Meyer. And tired of ‘Tebow this’,’ Tebow that.’…..
…‘greatest player ever’…blah blah….
zE bOp - January 6, 2009
Bradford is a much bigger douche than is Tebow
and Tebow is a better player. Advantage: Tebow.
BrooklynHorn - January 6, 2009
I can Answer that
No, Texas has too much hate for the Sooners. Oklahoma does something right, otherwise a group of people could not hate another state, school, team, and coach as much as this bunch.
Wichita Lineman - January 6, 2009

Not so much

I guess asking a TX fan to root for OU
is like asking a NE fan to root for Mizzou, just not gonna happen….
zE bOp - January 6, 2009
I would rather
drag my member through broken glass.
ChiFan13 - January 6, 2009
Shouldn't asking a Texas fan to root for OU
be just like asking a Nebraska fan to root for OU?
BrooklynHorn - January 6, 2009
More like a Kansas fan rooting for MU
Wichita Lineman - January 6, 2009
Well, even though Switzer used to
take us to the cleaners in the 70’s, NE always has had a healhy respect for the Sooners.
Some hate here and there, but mostly respect.
zE bOp - January 6, 2009
Not sure how you can respect a confirmed cheater like Switzer
UT92 - January 6, 2009
Respect and OU don't belong in the same sentence for us :)
ChiFan13 - January 6, 2009
yea, KU/MU, that's ugly.
Actually NU/CU is more of an ugly gridge match disrespectful thing, but Mizzou is a close 2nd.
zE bOp - January 6, 2009
really? despite a history of dominance?
or maybe my historic perception is off.
zamm - January 6, 2009
I'm not rooting for OU,
but I’m not exactly wild about the Gators winning another one, either. If the sooners win, at least the Big 12 can claim supremacy. If UF wins, at least the sooners didn’t.
zamm - January 6, 2009
God
I don’t want to have to go through conference talk again.
Big XII dominates SEC. End of story.

Doesn't the Mountain West dominate the SEC? HAHA!

zamm - January 6, 2009

zE bOp - January 6, 2009
Nebraska and Texas is different
Unlike OU and Nebraska, Texas has this huge ego, but few championships – somewhat like Texas A&M. Mack finally won a NC with a great VY and he is crowned KING.
Wichita Lineman - January 6, 2009
Uhhhh.....
Sorry, I had to shake that comment out of my head before I lost brain cells.
ChiFan13 - January 6, 2009
Considering We're Texas....
and not a state full of trailer parks….we should have a big ego…
SneezyBeltran - January 6, 2009
win the next 20 games at the State Fair
then we’ll talk
BrooklynHorn - January 6, 2009
Yea,
I want the NC in the Big 12, NOT the SEC, even if it means the Sooners.
I thought TX deserved to be in that game.
zE bOp - January 6, 2009
Not so sure after tonite though...:( game was too close w OSU.
zE bOp - January 6, 2009
Where is my 45-35
Come on…. I want to type 39-33. You see zE bOp, this bunch will never forget. Though Texas Tech, the voters and the computers and themselves screwed up their year – who do they hate – The Sooners.
Wichita Lineman - January 6, 2009

ChiFan13 - January 6, 2009
what, exactly would ever change that?
zamm - January 6, 2009
How does 39-33 vindicate your loss to us?
Texas Tech is not a part of this discussion. Right now, the topic of conversation is the clear superiority Texas carries in its rivalry against OU.
All rivalries actually.
BrooklynHorn - January 6, 2009

zE bOp - January 6, 2009
zE bOp, Texas may drop to #4
I don’t think it will happen, but it could. USC will be #2, they beat the better Big Ten team. Texas will be no better than #3, and may drop to #4. I think Texas is better than Utah, but who knows with these darn voters – Right Texas fans. You know something about that.

#2, #3, #4 in the final polls… the season is done.

I don't care about conference crap
I think it’s overblown. I don’t necessarily want to hear all the SEC loving, but I do like Tebow a lot so I’ll take him winning over OU anyday.
TheElusiveShadow - January 6, 2009
Agree
OU competes over the same recruits, Florida, for the most part does not, therefor go Gators.

gotta admit though
the SEC/Tebow suckfest on ESPN has gotten ridiculously annoying

Exactly - you must ignore Texas Tech Loss
Otherwise your arguement does not make sense. It was a 3-way tie – remember
Wichita Lineman - January 6, 2009
We remember....
What Tech didnt make this agrument, and frankly, we could care less about the BCS rankings anyway, we beat OU and we won our BCS bowl, our 3rd in a row by the way. whats on your resume for the past few years
future_longhorn_dad - January 6, 2009
I love your use of grammar
We kicked your ass on a neutral field. Remember that day? Your pussy punter flopped to the turf? We won?
That’s all that matters.

again, we aren't talking about TT
we’re discussing the BLATANT superiority that Texas has exhibited in its historical rivalry with OU.
Aggies, Sooners, Razorbacks… whatever; none is within 20 games of us.
BrooklynHorn - January 6, 2009
Green 'leftover'?
I dunno, was among the top duel threat prospects in the country.
I know it may be hard to believe, but I’ve heard that there are areas in TX where fans and h.s. players don’t like the Horns, They like aTm or something. Maybe Green doesn’t like either.
zE bOp - January 6, 2009
Well, why'd you ask?
If you think or know he’s a top dual threat prospect, you don’t need our opinion

You tell your kids
that in 2008 the Longhorns were NATIONAL CHAMPIONS! Hook’em…NATIONAL CHAMPS 2008!
kellen - January 6, 2009
Well said...
There is no single champion this year…while they will give away one weak trophy…There will be 4 teams as you say that can claim a piece of that pie.
Mulliganville - January 6, 2009
If there are 4 national champs....
Then there are NO national champs. And I think the latter is more true than the former, because you’re right, the system is completely flawed and incapable of determining any real champ at all.

Darklust - January 6, 2009
Congratulations, Horns

Memories and concerns
Hook ’em.
Ricky'sDreadlocks - January 6, 2009
Concerns
I forgot to mention the concerns part: People are going to accuse Mack of not being the quality coach others are saying he is; instead opting for the “He just has the keys to a nice car that practically drives itself, having access to the best recruits, a tradition-rich program, etc.” Those people need to google John Mackovic and see how well he did as head coach of Texas. It’s not an easy job, and the players aren’t going to do it all for you. Give Mack a few more years to add some hardware to the trophy case then get back to me on your thoughts about his coaching ability.
Ricky'sDreadlocks - January 6, 2009
eh
you could make that case for all the “elite” programs in college football. California and the south//southeast all are rich pickings for recruits. I don’t think that’s fair for people to say that just about Mack.
