No screaming lady, no problem. Colt was terrific, the Horns ran it well enough, and the defense was stellar. This was the performance we've been expecting all year and was very refreshing to see heading into The Season next week in Stillwater. Tonight, we celebrate. We'll take this any day considering Bama needed a miracle to survive, Florida didn't look particularly sharp and USC is struggling to put away Oregon State.

FIRST
take that, horndude.
The Mack Attack - October 24, 2009
congrats
you got me.
horndude - October 24, 2009
Absolutely ridiculous
ESPN college football page claims that Florida “rolled.” WTF? The Gator bias is incredible.
TheElusiveShadow - October 24, 2009
Its not funny anymore
Orangetower87 - October 24, 2009
As for USC as well
Horns98 - October 24, 2009
If Florida and USC ever had to play each other, I think ESPN would implode.
LonghornEm - October 24, 2009
Gary Danielson's head would explode
Dawnpatrol - October 24, 2009
The 'stat to watch' thing for Florida was:
“Tebow leads #1 Florida” – as if that’s ALL you have to know.
TXinDC - October 25, 2009
wow
I’ve been waiting for a first half like that since utep. Yeah all we will hear tomorrow is how Florida and Alabama pushed through that tough sec schedule.
vivalonghorns05 - October 24, 2009
Texas, Florida, and Bama
all played “bottom-feeders” this weekend, but we were the only team to really show up for our game.
The Mack Attack - October 24, 2009
The difference...
…. being Florida has beaten a #9 LSU. Where is our comparable?
EVERY team we have played has at least 3 losses.
HornChamps - October 24, 2009
Not necessarily when we played them. Give us a little credit. nt
whills - October 24, 2009
Yeah, ULM was undefeated when we played them!
circa1015 - October 24, 2009
pure BS
OU was 3-2 and Missouri was 4-2 those were winning teams till the horns beat them. Oh yeah OU lost 2 games by 1 point in each game and still has a potent defense.
Alabama has scored 3 touch downs in the last three games boy that’s a national class offense and in those last 3 games McElroy has 2 td and 2 int.
As far as Florida is concerned they did beat LSU which had a wining record but still struggled against 2 teams without a winning record. IN the last three games they have scored 5 TD’s and tebow has 3 td’s and 1 int over the same period.
over the last three games UT scored 11 TD’s and McCoy 5 TDs and 3 int against 2 winning teams and 1 losing team.
Xerxes - October 25, 2009
LSU is no better than OU
They both suck
burntorangehorn - October 25, 2009
#9 LSU
LSU is overated, they can’t score
Ryan2907 - October 25, 2009
LSU has one loss,
…. while we haven’t played a single team without at least 3 losses.
LSU has allowed an average of 13.86 pts/game. Similar to our 13.58/game and against far superior competition.
Personally, I see LSU beating Bama in 2 weeks.
HornChamps - October 26, 2009
And as for Texas...
“Texas looks impressive to start but struggles to score in second half”
seth78 - October 24, 2009
whoever wrote that didn't watch the game
or completely failed to realize that we put in GG shortly after the half.
The Mack Attack - October 24, 2009
you don't expect sports writers to think, do you?
or do any actual analysis? your standards are way to high
Orangetower87 - October 24, 2009
so it would seem
what can I say? BON and Tim Griffin (at times) have spoiled me for the last year or so…
The Mack Attack - October 24, 2009
they didn't struggle in the 2nd half
They were running clock in the 2nd have then put in their backups
Ryan2907 - October 25, 2009
Let's see if the Oregon St.
D can stop this drive…
Horns98 - October 24, 2009
nope
7Swords of Salat - October 24, 2009
dang….let’s hope for Barkley fumble the ball somehow.
Horns98 - October 24, 2009
second 3rd down conversion for SC
Beavers getting licked
horndude - October 24, 2009
SC defense has given up 482 yards to OSU. Not too strong. nt
whills - October 24, 2009
Will they play the ducks on the road next week? nt
Horns98 - October 24, 2009
Don't know. I ignore the Weak 10 at every opportunity. nt
whills - October 24, 2009
Horns showed up...
Good to see the Horns show up for the first half. I think Chiles will play better by not starting. Malcom Williams needs a little work holding on to the ball…but damn his is all world on special teams! All over the field!
Dawnpatrol - October 24, 2009
USC is SO AWESOME!
Can’t wait to hear how good USC is this week for beating the unranked Oregon St Beavers by 7….it’s official the announcers just said USC escaped…ok let’s see what the rest of the media says about the game…
Dawnpatrol - October 24, 2009
at home
wow – that is some payback!
Orangetower87 - October 24, 2009
tebow threw two six picks
Orangetower87 - October 24, 2009
pick sixes
Orangetower87 - October 24, 2009
a 12-pack, either way you type it!
horndude - October 24, 2009
Palmer just claimed Texas is the "most balanced"
Dawnpatrol - October 24, 2009
<3 Jesse Palmer, even if he is a Gator. Much more objective than Herbie.
LonghornEm - October 24, 2009
herbie predicted USC and tOSU could play for MNC
after their suck ass game earlier this year. when did he get to be such a tool?
Orangetower87 - October 24, 2009
Wasn't he always? nt
whills - October 24, 2009
When he set foot on tOSU campus
LonghornEm - October 24, 2009
oops, that was meant to be a reply to Orangetower
LonghornEm - October 24, 2009
Time to think about Okie State...
and how many more beers I’m going to have tonight!
Dawnpatrol - October 24, 2009
I'm going for the Irish coffee. Nasty weather here.
LonghornEm - October 24, 2009
Winning or not losing on a last second play...
equal half a loss. Please note when you consider Alabama and Iowa in your polls.
drycreek - October 24, 2009
Should I burn more brain cells and make myself dumber by listening to Lou or just go to bed and call it good?
drycreek - October 24, 2009
Go to bed. Why ruin a great night! nt
whills - October 24, 2009
i won't tell you that lou just said
that bama deserved to win because they played well.
thank God Mark May called him out
Orangetower87 - October 24, 2009
one of the rare times I agree with Mark May
LonghornEm - October 24, 2009
he picked the Horns over USC in 2005
Orangetower87 - October 24, 2009
Did he? Wow. Still, once every 4 years is still pretty rare.
LonghornEm - October 24, 2009
Hey at least its not as bad as
Mike Patrick and Craig James saying Matt Barkley should be in it for the Heisman…I wonder what all those former great Heisman trophy winners who worked their asses off would say about the most coveted football trophy being a popularity contest now…
jacobb23 - October 24, 2009
I'm so glad they've moved on
from Tate Forcier. Until Michigan lost to Sparty, ESPN was an unbearable Barkley-Forcier-Tebow lovefest, with special attention on Forcier and Barkley as the freshman phenoms. Ugh.
LonghornEm - October 24, 2009
yeah no kidding,
and I’ll put money down saying that even if GG plays lights out next year, he won’t get noticed till the year after..
jacobb23 - October 24, 2009
barkley's stats
are so underwhelming: projected to throw 10 tds on season, 2675 yards (per espn). some people are fooled by his typical usc arrogance into thinking he is that good.
Orangetower87 - October 24, 2009
Lou
isn’t sounding too good tonight…not that he ever does…
Dawnpatrol - October 24, 2009
I Know It Didn't Matter - BUT
How the eff was that Mizzou TD not overturned?
realmccoy - October 24, 2009
I'm assuming
that the receiver was considered “forced out” by our back, and got back in bounds as soon as he could (debatable), so there was no inconclusive reason to overturn the call. Bogus, but understandable I suppose.
circa1015 - October 24, 2009
No wonder Major left
Saban throws his OC under the bus rather than accept any blame for the near disaster.
patienthornsfan - October 24, 2009
Major left?
C’mon…. it was common knowledge Saban was about to demote him to QB coach. Fortunately, his call to Greg Davis didn’t go unanswered.
HornChamps - October 25, 2009
Two sides of the same coin.
Saban likes to throw his coordinators under the bus. He was about to do that with Major and demote him. Therefore Major left. Same idea.
billyzane - October 25, 2009
I am....
A very happy man. My son’s team won this morning, and the Horns rolled tonight. It was an awesome football day. Now to deal with Okie Lite… I expect there will be drama. They are too good not to give us some, especially in Stillwater. I still think we get them by 10 though
HornsFan87 - October 25, 2009
I feel just like I did in 05
Can Colt do a pump fake followed by an 80 yard td run? That’d pretty much make my night.
SuperBentley - October 25, 2009 via mobile
A complete win....
Homecoming deflation on Rock M Nation open game thread.
TXStampede - October 25, 2009
Great Post
realmccoy - October 25, 2009
So I left for the Halloween party a little after halftime...
…and when I checked the score on my phone, it appeared you guys let things go to hell. Seriously, only six points in the entire second half?
I’ll be watching the DVR to see who will draw the ire of my finger-pointing.
burntorangehorn - October 25, 2009
You may be watching the USC game...
utexas87 - October 25, 2009
Oh, did ABC switch over?
Usually they seem to do that stuff regionally, so I hope they didn’t do it here in the mid-atlantic.
burntorangehorn - October 25, 2009
Yeah, they did it everywhere except in texas, i think.
billyzane - October 25, 2009
Not in Mizzou country (at least KC) either.
ajax77777 - October 25, 2009
To watch most of the second half
you have to go to espn360
Wells - October 25, 2009
Absurd
But that’s Disney for you.
