the Texas strength of schedule. Probably not enough to matter, but it’s something the media may pick up on with any “TCU is better than Texas” arguments. Which would be irritating, if ultimately inconsequential.
maybe in the computers it will even out. In all the resume rankings, it will hurt, since OSU is the best win for Texas. Maybe that would sway a few voters to drop Texas behind TCU in the human polls. I don’t know, this stuff makes my mind hurt, so I normally avoid it. If Texas takes care of business the next two games I’m sure everything will be fine.
TCU has peaked IMO, we’ve got one more game than them and a tougher closing schedule (not that that’s saying much). TCU has way too much ground to make up.
that much. I’d be stunned if Texas wins out that they don’t find themselves playing in Pasadena.
That being said, I don’t think the voters have fully factored in how poor the Big XII is this season and how relatively weak Texas’ schedule is. The fact TCU has a slightly better schedule right now according to Sagarin speaks volumes about the Big XII.
First off, do you think OSU is going to beat Oklahoma? Based on this game (and I’m aware of the lack of Zac Robinson) they are going to get torched and probably drop to around 20 or so.
Secondly, who gives a crap? I don’t think the chance of TCU passing Texas (provided both win out) is zero, but it’s pretty damn close. Let them talk and enjoy the party in Tempe.
They’ve got a winless New Mexico as well as an FCS team on their schedule. Sure our SOS is much weaker compared to last year but at least we didn’t schedule someone like Texas State.
Go Pokes!
With or without Robinson, the Pokes need to steamroll CU tonight. We need to keep the only strong win on our resume.
ArcticLonghorn - November 19, 2009
We beat Colorado too...
circa1015 - November 19, 2009
Go Pokes indeed...
for the reason you mentioned and the fact that my girlfriend is an alum…it is better for me when the pokes win.
Mulliganville - November 19, 2009
Also a good reason
Peter Bean - November 19, 2009
if OSU loses we clinch the south
go buffs.
don’t say its a foregone conclusion because we got more football to play.
acho81 - November 19, 2009
Robinson out...
ArcticLonghorn - November 19, 2009

ArcticLonghorn - November 19, 2009
Hawkins death watch commences.
dimecoverage - November 19, 2009
Maybe he can switch with Mangino
ArcticLonghorn - November 19, 2009
Was that the slowest return for TD ever???
Mulliganville - November 19, 2009
Attention Fox Sports...
You see how ESPN cut away from the replay to show the live action? Yes, that is how you do it.
Mulliganville - November 19, 2009
+1
I thought I was the only one who would get annoyed by that.
ElMariachiLoco - November 19, 2009
I was thinking the same thing…3/4 speed at best
ArcticLonghorn - November 19, 2009
That's one way to overcome the loss of Robinson
ArcticLonghorn - November 19, 2009
Does CU really have a chance??
ArcticLonghorn - November 19, 2009
Texas = Big 12 South Champs
if Colorado wins Texas is the Big 12 South Champs, so why wouldn’t everybody be rooting for the buffs.
TexasGarcia37 - November 19, 2009
(1) We need to retain the quality win.
(2) The likelihood of TX losing to both KU and A&M, plus an OSU win at OU next week are pretty slim
ArcticLonghorn - November 19, 2009
I don't know that OSU can win with the run alone tonight
ArcticLonghorn - November 19, 2009
and with a D making Cody Hawkins look talented.
bbatsell - November 19, 2009
Cody Hawkins is the all time Pass TD leader for Colorado?
My God…
HornPossessed - November 19, 2009
Alex Cate a smoooooth 0-9 in the first half
With one nice INT
40AS - November 19, 2009
I'm watching the game on justin.tv and a cu ad was interrupted...
“At the University of Colorado…Del Taco would like to give you the bird”
ajax77777 - November 19, 2009
The game is on ESPN 360
If your provider doesn’t give you access, you can have a friend set up a log in that will give you access.

At this rate, Zac Robinson is going to need to heroically return this game
TheElusiveShadow - November 19, 2009
This could hurt
the Texas strength of schedule. Probably not enough to matter, but it’s something the media may pick up on with any “TCU is better than Texas” arguments. Which would be irritating, if ultimately inconsequential.
Wescott Eberts (GoBR) - November 19, 2009
But doesn't it balance
Since it helps CU’s ranking?
40AS - November 19, 2009
Yeah I thought about that
maybe in the computers it will even out.

Peter Bean - November 19, 2009

Wescott Eberts (GoBR) - November 19, 2009
Who would have thought their backup QB's are so bad
I know Zac Robinson was valuable to them, but dang.

I'm watching the Dolphins game as well right now

Wescott Eberts (GoBR) - November 19, 2009
Colorado leads the turnover battle four to zero, and they're winning by four
Basically, if Okie State was playing competently, they’d be winning by two scores.

who should we be going for?

Ah, the Bill Belichek school of blowing games
40AS - November 19, 2009
I personally didn't agree with the call
But I thought it was a defensible decision for Belichek.
TheElusiveShadow - November 19, 2009
I'm the opposite
You punt from your own 28 every time, especially on 4th and 2. Their 40 with a chance to put the game away, that’s defensible IMO
40AS - November 19, 2009
Put the ball in the hands of his best player
to ice the game. Tough to argue with that. I thought the decision was pretty close to 50-50 from a statistical perspective.
DoubleB - November 19, 2009

Otherwise it’s just going to be embarassing. We’ll have to listen to those TCU mouthbreathers all December.

So?
