Auburn gets a long TD

7-0, sounds familiar…

And an onside kick

Auburn ball

I'm sure it won't happen . . .

but I’d love to see ’Bama go down here and then take down the Mighty Meyers next week . . . I could go for a Texas-TCU title match.

In any case, it’d drive the human voters and the computer nerds nuts.

And a Bama loss more or less sows up Colt's Heisman
Auburn is hot today!
This looks awfully familiar
Even if Bama wins

I’d like to see the excuses made for their D if they get lit up

short week. good offensive game plan, rivalry games are tough.
Auburn is going to run out of trick plays by the end of the first quarter

Go Coach Chizik

Wow

That might’ve been 6 for Bama

Friday Football

It sue would be fun to watch someone else sweat out a rivalry game!

SEC Officials

Boy they can decide any game.

Auburn is getting the breaks!

Come on punch it in here!

Just to make sure, if Bama loses today and beats Florida in the SEC championship, are we looking at a possible Texas/TCU national championship?

Probably not

Their computer rankings are going to take a nasty hit when they play 1-10 New Mexico. Not that their computer rankings are that great to begin with.

Cincy gonna jump TCU

They get Pitt next week, they’ll have a much higher SOS than TCU

Thinking about it

I wonder how things would happen if TCU were 2 and Cincy were 5 behind Bama and Florida in the human polls. Would that make up for their computer scores? Of course, this is in the scenario of Texas, Cincy, and TCU winning out, Bama losing today, but beating Floriday.

WHo does TCU have left? ANything on TV?
Frogs face 1-10 N. Mexico on Saturday

TV unknown (Versus, maybe?)

I think Cinci... still have to beat Pitt though!
Alright

so if Cinci loses to Pitt, then we have UT/TCU given the above scenario.

I wouldn't count out a 1 loss SEC champ
Definitely Would Happen

If Bama loses to Auburn then beats Florida – I guarantee they would jump both Cinci and TCU to make the title game.

I’d love to give them what they want

Wow, #75 of Auburn got in the RB's way!
QB lucky he didn't stumble to the ground before that TD pass\
TD Auburn!

I don’t think this Bama team can outscore its opponent, this is great!

Touchdown Auburn!
14-0 Auburn!!!

If Alabama fall, guess who is the new Heisman front runner?

Are the Bama and Florida games this weekend irrelevant?

Most “experts” seem to believe that a one-loss Bama or one-loss Florida, if they wind up winning next week, is still in the championship game. So does today’s Bama-Auburn game really matter?

Perhaps if Bama and Florida both lost this weekend…

Gus Malzahn is an effn genius..

Honestly you can’t say Auburn isn’t fun to watch…

Auburn jumping out to an early lead at home against a heavily favored in-state rival?

Who woulda thunk it?

Alabama's defense must suck!

Really, after 11 games they have been insanely awesome … but they are struggling with an in state rival on a holiday weekend on the road so those 11 games must mean NOTHING and their defense is being exposed!

We aren't talking about defense this week. :(
This is looking eerily similar to the Utah game last year

Alabama’s D is going to need to make some plays, because I don’t think their offense can straight outscore anyone.

Does Bama have the offense to come back against Auburn?
If they can find Julio Jones
I know it's early

but the way this game is turning out, only makes you appreciate our W last night even more.

did you see the alabama kicker hit the flop after the punt?
sorry: flop and hit the ground?
Side effect of the influx of soccer players

I hear he was visiting Norman over the summer.

I am at work, can only watch the game on ESPN Game tracker

Auburn sounds like they are doing good, come on Chizik

Are they streaming this online anywhere?
Check justin.tv
did you try cbssports.com
try this

http://channelsurfing.net/watch-ncaa-football-2.html

Thanks!

Found it on justin.tv too…this stupid work computer can’t handle it though

For comparison's sake

McElroy’s season
159-265 for 1996 yards and 14 tds to 4 ints

Colt’s last 6 games:
154-209 (73.7%), 1791 yards (11.63 yard/comp), 16 TD, 2 INT

HAHA

I missed the “season” part and I was actually shocked. Then I caught on :) That’s terrible.

Malzahn

Anyone know if Muschamp has a relationship with Malzahn. Probably a pipe dream, but could you imagine him being Coach Boom’s OC?

There isn't more than one degree of separation

But I don’t believe they’ve ever worked together.

Gus Malzahn is who I immediately think of whenever somebody wants to improve on Greg Davis.

I was thinking we've stolen 2 DC's so why not take a shot at an OC.
Auburn needs to quit giving Bama good field position
Alabama gets their first first down
rivalry game

Never underestimate how much the little brother wants to beat the big brother!

In what poll is Auburn ranked?
The one that gave Aggy it's national championship
The one that said that ND would be in the championship game

wait that was Lou Holtz’s mind

sorry that was NBC not CBS
CBS Top 10

1. Florida
1. Alabama
3. Tebow
4. LSU
5. Whoever Florida is playing
6. Alabama’s opponent
7. Team that miraculously beat an SEC team last week
8. TCU (the fly in the ointment)
9. Texas
10. Cincinnati

Game is on CBS, right?

They always use the highest possible ranking they can find for an SEC game. Even if it contradicts the game that was on right before it.

I am surprised that Richardson was giving the touchdown and the last few runs

where is Ingram?

Auburn's special teams (other than the onside kick) are killing them
Final: Cinci wins 49-36

Good to see Juice Williams have a good game. Whatever happened to that guy? I remember all the hype associated with him a few years ago.

he chose to play for Ron Zook. that's what happened to him...
Anyone see that one guy with all the swagger earlier durning the fair catch what was his name Kirkpatrick
Aurburns defense looks kind a like Texas did last night

Difference is, that is expected

Auburn is gonna go flat
over the top safety never got there
Nice reverse

That guy has some speed!

Almost a Prothrow catch

Don’t know how to spell his name

Think you just drop the 'w'
little bit of momentum now
Alabama D not playing at their best right now.

Thanksgiving must be a defensive curse.

Looks like they just got a turnover. Damn.

I still hope they destroy Florida next week.

That was a really smart play by #27 on Auburn

He actually came back to the ball and made the CB hit him to get the PI call. When a defender has his back turned I don’t understand why every receiver doesn’t do it

eat my own words

auburn sacked/ fumbled. Bama ball

Spoke to soon on the momentum
LT whiffed

didn’t read the blitz

Hoping Bama loses to Florida

Power run would eat us alive.

Perhaps, I just want to laugh at that drunk gaytor who came over here last night
would his wife let him ever post again?
That pitch play is really weird

You are so close, why not just give the ball to him

We're gettin live play-by-play of Tiger Woods' accident. Who woulda thunk it?
McLeroy is playing pretty good
Aurburn's spread is tearing bama up

What do you think colts could do?

That boy has some Swagger
He looked like he ran into a wall
And he did not even see it coming!
Why the hell dont they do some more of that wild cat shit its actually working
Its the SEC

it would make too much sense to do something on offense that actually worked.

The don't have swagger
Tell Dre Kirkpatrick that he sure said Texas doesnt have enough
Those last three downs were a load of fail
Damn they couldnt even capitalize on any of that momentum more of the same shit that doesnt work
Bama is gonna come out strong in this second half
That is what I thought about the Texas defense last night
Auburn gets the ball first to start the half

so, its up the bama d

Only problem with Auburn scoring is they have to kick off out of bounds over and over
Nebraska scores on a TD up 14 to nothing

reviewing play

Gotta maintain possession throughout

I bet this gets overturned

apparently they are using SEC refs in this game.

touchdown stands

I was screaming at my TV about that crap they kept shooting thereselves in the foot on all that kicking the ball out of bounds
Man these jerk offs think Bama's gonna win by double digits, hope not
I also heard that Ingram already has 1000 yards rushing the game, and the heisman is in the mail
Saying Nebraska has a GREAT chance to knock us off.

Good. Something has to get this teams defense attention.

Ah, CBS half time commentators

Proof that some villages in the south export their idiots.

Nebraska half time stats

38 yards???

sorry first quarter. but still
Yeah, they can definitely follow A&M's blueprint against UT's defense
Nah, Aggies always play us tough

4-day layoff meant the D was gassed, unfocused, and injured. We’ll be ready Saturday

Sorry, I was being sarcastic

A&M has arguably the best skill talent UT could face this season, and Nebraska’s offense is a true blight. Our offense may struggle, but I’ll consider the game in hand after the first touchdown.

I just caught the sarcasm. Sorry Tryptophan makes me slow.

How was your Turkey Day LH?

Good food, some good beer and a thoroughly enjoyable game. Life is good.

And yours?

Happy to pull out a W

Watched the game with an Aggie buddy of mine. It was a little tense. Food was excellent (I smoked a turkey) & and I found out that the wife is having twins on Monday, so everyone was in a celebratory mood.

Congrats. My wife is expecting too, but only one.
Thanks & congrats to you. We're pretty excited.
Congrats to you sir

May you enjoy every moment of sleep you get like it will be your last for a good long time.

And congrats to you as well
A/M basketball down 7 to WVU with 5 minutes left
Huskers Will Be Tough

Really wish KSU could have found a miracle way to win.

I am not too concerned. Their offense is not that great.

If our D shows up we should be fine. And they have only taken one week off this season(yesterday).

Bamas defense holds serve
3 and 1. Run the damn ball Auburn. Geez. I formation run it up the gut
Surprised that they got cute and tried to throw on 3rd and 1
What why would you throw on 3rd and 1
Buffs moving the ball on the huskers
1st and goal at the 3 for the Buffs. Theyre still down 14-0
Wow, Auburn held serve there. D looked good
Beautiful play made on Mcelroy
Did look good

Defense is holing them for now

Where he got hit from behind? He did throw a beautiful pass there......right into the OLineman's leg
Auburn really needs to get something going the Defense is only going to hold out for so long
Great call

Huge pass play!

Touchdown Auburn!
This a good game

The Texas game yesterday was terrible. It shouldn’t have even been close. A top 5 team vs an unranked team should be a blowout. But this game is AWESOME!!!!! Alabama vs Auburn… they both have amazing defense!!!! OH my GAWD I love the SEC!!!!!!!!

TD Auburn!!!!! Bama got burned badly
wow

was about to say it looks like another drying of paint in the sec, but this is mixing it up now

Let's see if Auburn can kick it and keep it in bounds
OK so maybe giving it to them on the 40 is a good thing?
Well, they kept it in bounds

But their special teams are worse than ours

Arenas vs. UT's coverage team is a serious mismatch
Haha, his own guy hit him

Just wiffed on a block

What happens to the BCS if Alabama Loses?
Depends on what they do to Florida

They beat Florida then Cincy or TCU probably jumps into the mix

If they win the SEC Championship game I think they will still play UT (assuming we beat Nebraska)
Experts say not much

I think if they beat Florida we would play them

Pick 6 for Nebraska 21-7. Their offense has sputtered but the special teams and defense has given them 2 TDs
gonna be a good game next week
our D

(not last night’s) would give hell for Ingram

What happens if Bama loses but beats Florida?
tcu prob
No TCU

Unless Cincy loses, Cincy should jump TCU this week and will next week for sure after beating Pitt (TCU has awful New Mexico)

i'm thinking pitt wins over cincy
Definitely possible
Here we go 4th and 1
This is gonna be a close measurement
Nope!

Let’s see, 2nd and 1 run up the middle for no gain. 3rd and 1 try again. 4th and 1, what the hell why not just go up the middle

not getting that 4th down may cost Ingram the Heisman!
Looks like they may be short of the 1st. Would give the ball to Auburn in prime field position
Colt's winning the Heisman!
Is this Chizik's last thanks to Texas for the head coaching jobs?
ingram giving the heisman to colt
there's an awful lot of game left...
31 yards on 15 carries
...

and hypothetically next run he breaks a 50 yarder?

That’s 81 yards on 16 carries.

Well, well. This is getting interesting
This is beautiful
You think he juggled the ball enough there?
Who's tougher

Bama or TCU? I’d say FL over both, but…

What a stupid throw
bet on it...

bama loses…beats florida yet still gets into bcs mnc vs. texas…causing huge stir…bcs defends its computers…people want playoffs…o0o0o0o the drama…

What the hell was that? A WR screen on 3rd and long
they literally got nothing on that drive
Geez

Stopping running a screen every single time it’s 3rd and long. You don’t think ’bama notices?

Arenas is scary
Especially with our special teams
God Auburn is horrible
Yeah, Auburn's special teams is bad
Good lord these Auburn return teams make Texas look amazing
15 yarder coming up against Auburn
I do not know if Alabama is this dominating (losing by 7, I know)

or if Auburn is just choking.

Auburn's special teams is killing them
Thanks goodness Jones dropped that
Trying to get Ingram some hiesman plays

INcomplete HB Pass

Nice call by Bama there. Jones couldnt hang on
Bama to kick, I assume
Auburn has to score soon
Glad my last name isnt Smelley
If Auburn wants to win

they need at least two more touchdowns.

Auburn's D isnt playing all that bad considering what the special teams is giving up
I know you are interested

I looks like BGSU is going to hold on against Toledo.
Well it is a big game around here.

Haha Bama is helping Auburn
That should help hopefully
Auburn has some good field position here. Lets see if they take advantage
Bama had only had one real sustained drive today
Good throw Todd, good throw
AUburn gives up the field postion and TO battle again
Auburn self-destructing
Damn Todd has no accuracy 3rd time today he over threw a ball
My goodness

Think what Malzahn could do with a good QB. That was incredibly bad.

He's been overthrowing people all day. That play looked weird with the fake handoff to nobody
Not good and will they stop saying oooh turning the tide
Damn Auburn, shooting yourselves in the foot here
I can't believe Mike Leach recruited that kid to Tech.....

Good thing he didn’t stay, he could’ve been a good QB, hahaha!!!

How bad is it that Bama has trailed all day but I've never thought they would lose?
richardson having a much better day than ingram
Jesus

Commentators talking about us struggling with A&M and saying “the tide is rolling”

I heard that 2
They gotta get a stop here and make them kick another field goal
Richardson might be better than Ingram
I agree, I think he is
Certainly playing better today

Ingram’s a heck of a back though

Agreed

but Richardson is a stud. I know there was a little talk of him being interested in Texas, but he never came to visit. He could have been nice

I don't think Richardson is better...

But it seems to me that Auburn is zoning in on Ingram, kinda like we did against Bush in the National title. Doesn’t mean he isn’t good, but when you have an entire “SEC” defense zoning in on you, its bound to stop even the best of players.

Ingram getting pulled on a critical drive

How’s that for a Heisman contender?

He wasn't in on their earlier TD drive
remind you of anything?

say like, Reggie Bush on the sideline on 4th and 1?

Anyone touting Ingram over Gerhart for Heisman...

is an idiot. Gerhart is the real deal.

Need a block or a miss here. Would be perfect
Need a TD bad here
going to be a very good 4th Quarter

If Auburn can find a way to score, they have a shot

They need to do some more wild cat
All of Auburns leads have been while i wasnt watching.

Every time i turn on the game, Bama pulls back and makes it a game. Maybe i should stop watching?

I have zero faith in Todd
Jesse Palmer giving colt some serious Heisman love
ESPN predictor has Colt at the top
Auburn's done a nice job

on that play . . .till there

Damn Auburn, quit screwin up
Damn bulshit stop shooting your selves in the foot
Why does everyone expect an unranked Nebraska to give us a great shot?

I know their D is good, but they haven’t played a good offense outside of Tech and they got beat 31-10.

And with the exception of Kansas (31)

They haven’t scored more than 20 against a BCS team

Well did you expect A&M to play the game this close?

It’s a championship game against arguably the best team on UT’s schedule. They have holes (all on offense), but that defense has been good enough to give teams problems.

I didn't expect last night to be close

but wasn’t that surprised because of rivalry game at Kyle and A&M has playmakers on offense. Nebraska does not.

Let's remember

those playmakers lost by 55 to Oklahoma (Johnson was something like 12-31 in the game) and 48 to Kansas State.

Nebraska’s playmakers are on defense and today is a great example. Up 14 at the half despite having less than 100 yards of total offense.

I agree.

I don’t think we blow them out, but it seems like we should be getting a little more credit for our offense.

It could be a 31-10 type of game

that’s never close. Nebraska’s offense is pathetic. But if they can play the game like Oklahoma did against Texas then it’s going to be a close one.

1st and 20 is never good
Auburn needs to get something together they are very much in this game
Nick Satan's deal with himself is over

time for Satan to pay the piper

Auburn QB pulled a Colt
Wowzer

Great play

Expected him to throw another pick. Nice play to pull it down and run the ball
Seems like 'Bama falls for the GD type plays.
So for the past 12 years he's been setting everything up for a MNC match-up with Bama. Genius!!
More referring to the bubble screen/quick outs/running it for 0 yards
Come on Auburn. Pick this up
Why didnt he run
Throwin another ball into triple coverage, damn
How does he think he is, Jerrod Johnson?
Err, Who does he think he is.
Kick the damn ball out of bounds. Geez
Anybody else play fantasy football?
Yeah
Chris Johnson has been money for me this year and Vince has certainly helped him
Absolutely love when they run the option. You know it's going far if either VY or CJ takes it
I pray they kick this ball out of bounds or rugby style kick it but neither will happen
GREAT field position!
Nice play on the punt
nice. our special team should take notes
Make them earn it watch the penaltys
alright, back them up even further
get a safety, damnit
another false start, haha
This would be the drive for Ingram to earn the Heisman
I think Ingram's ship has already sailed
That would be great than it would be a 3 point game
Rule change:

If the penalty is less than 5 yards it should be a loss of down

Terrirble read by McElroy on

a basic stick route.

Fumble would have been nice there
What a QB duel this is!!!

Amazing game, two completely mediocre quarterbacks!!!!

Block this punt
Run this damn thing back
That official needs to learn to wrap up

Terrible form

He is a colt supporter

conspiracy for the good guys

Didn't last yr one of the SEC officials throw a bow to a USCjr receiver
Ball at the 44, nice
Look at that

Kick Coverage! Why cant we do that?

Nebraska official: "False start, everyone except the center". Haha
Btw: Zach Lee just got knocked out.
Zac Lee injured
On the sidelines, looked pretty ugly
Theyre up 21-7. Would be surprised if he comes back
Lets go Auburn dont F*ck this up
I think the officials got their instructions mixed up on this one

they’ve actually impeded 2 offensive Alabama plays.

Was hopin for the homerun ball there
Not lookin good
Gators or Tide?

Who would you rather play given last night’s defensive effort? I’d actually say I’m rooting for the Tide because Tebow scares me based on what JJ did last night.

Of course if Bama drops this one and beats the Gators, then do we get TCU? Or Cincy?

All assuming we take care of business against the huskers next week, of course.

Johnson > Tebow

Tebow is a Fullback playing QB.

Don't be so sure

Tebow, as much as I hate him, is a pure winner.

And he and JJ actually have the same 40 time according to multiple websites.

And according to thsoe same websites there are dozens of sub-4.4 kids coming into college every year
No, it's nfldraftscout.com, rivals, etc.

they have both at 4.59
tebow’s 55 yard run last week was impressive.
and to be clear, i’m not a gator fan. just realistic. i’d rather play the tide.

they played a d2 school last week ... come on
Colt's 65 yarder was more impressive.
did you watch the game? aggie has better offense than both
It looks like Bama knows what's coming based on formations
no blocking on the outside
3rd and forever. Convert this shit
Not a great series for Auburn
I think Bama blitzes a corner every time there's a 3rd and long
Correct me if I'm wrong but isnt the offense supposed to go forward?
Sorry. Pathetic playcalls those first two downs.

Wow. Talk about playing scared.

Yeah I know they would mange to screw it up
I think Auburn's offensive coordinator has lost it...

That was terrible play calling

Agreed.

I have no idea what he was doing there. Definition of playing not to lose rather than go for the win.

Truly sucks
3 and out is gonna be needed to win this for Auburn.
I think they need a turnover...

weird to say since they currently have the lead, but ’Bama seems to have them figured out.

Auburn gets the ball back 1 more time maybe twice hardly doubt it
Why would you call play action on 3rd and 18?

Everyone knows your going to throw, it just gives the defense more time to get to you.

Colorado threatening to make a game of it
who's Lee's back-up?
True freshman Cody Green
Lee's injury serious?
Looked bad

Didn’t see how he came off the field, he ain’t playing now

Richardson looks a lot more explosive than Ingram
Would Stanford ever pull Gerhart on a big drive?
dude does not go down easy
Homer announcers..

Think they are dieing for the #1/#2 match up in the SEC championship game

Great official defense!
Kinda embarassing for Ingram that he is on the sideline in crunch time
That was a pick

Shoulda been offensive PI

Here comes the Boom

Colorado scores, now 21-14 Huskers

John Saunders:

“A lot of people believe Nebraska can upset Texas.” Doosh.

The damn crossing route from Julio is killing Awbern
Can anyone cover JOnes
The PxP guy in the Auburn-Bama game is an idiot
game will be decided on this drive.

That is, if Auburn cannot get a stop.

o/t

i can’t stand listening to people practice the guitar, especially when im trying to watch football and they insist on playing in the living room…

/vent

animal house

go belushi on them

Bama might run out the clock and kick a fg
Someone please cover Julio.
Come on D. Geez Jones is gashing you
If Bama wins they should lose most there 1st place votes
Get a turnover defense
Julio going to win this by himself
Jones keeps moving the f'in chains. Looks like Bama is going to burn the clock and kick a field goal
Chizik's blitzes looks just like they did here at Texas

Linebackers flying recklessly into lineman and not getting any pressure.

Why not use timeouts
Ball game. Auburn needs to start burning timeouts to prserve the clock
I think Richardson has taken the heisman from Ingram and given it to Colt
haha, yeah it looks like it
Why bother using timeouts now i was screaming at 2:50 to burn one fuck it just play to lose
They lose without a turnover
Auburn has to hold them to 3
This game sucks
Which makes me that much more thankful we won last night
But how can that be

Game of the century!!! /CBS

Wouldn't be shocked to see Julio Jones catch a TD pass here
I want bama to win I would really rather play them than florida
I want the Tebows
Julio has been lighting them up on this drive
That dude Chizik just walked by was HUGE
They will run it

kills off the time for Auburn to have a scoring drive. I dont know whats worse, settling for 3 with 40 seconds less, or going down 6-7 with 40 seconds more.

That's probably better
Damn
Open up your bag of tricks Gus
They are going to need a miracle
Damn, wish the fat boy could run. Would have been two there
Come on football gods

Give me an Auburn win.

Thats what I'm sayin
Come on boys, we need a TD here
Wish we had at tleast another minute to work with on that clock
Is it too soon to thank Saban

for sitting Ingram in the Iron Bowl thereby ripping the Heisman from his grasp?

If we beat Nebraska and Colt goes for 250/2 tds then no its not too soon
I think you can thank Trent Richardson
Terrible return

Wasted 10 seconds dancing around

Shouldnt have danced around for 10 sec
You gotta throw the ball further than 10 yards
Auburn in the midst of choking big time
short passes

GD has gone to auburn

Oh the power of the 5 yard dink with less than a minute to go
they killed 25 seconds for that
They just burned 20 sec. Dumb
Still no confidence in Todd
Les Miles thinks Auburn's clock management sucks.
OMG...This is Les Miles-esque
You have to use your timeout once he doesn't have the 1st down.
pathetic coaches

Pathetic.

Agreed. This is baffling
a draw play with 30 seconds left? REALLY? wow
Tell Todd you can't spike it with a second left
This is all on Malzahn. Absolutely embarrassing playcalling
You have to

throw the ball down the field for at least 10 yards (or make sure your WR can get 10 on his own)

Colorado misses a FG
You've got to be kidding me

1:30 is an eternity for a good team that knows how to run a hurry up offense. Chizik looking very flustered over there.

So the broadcast on the computer from CBS is a couple seconds ahead of the live TV broadcast
Did someone kidnap Malzahn and replace him with Mackovic?
Malzahn was awful in the second half

Just awful.

He really, really doesn't trust his players to make plays
What could he do with real athletes?
er, what would he do TO real athletes?
wow, is Auburn even trying to win?
spike the fuckin ball
That almost sucked
put flutie in!
another BS escape by Alabama
8 defenders and 2 receivers
Every game in the SEC is a rivalry game...

…because the ALL blow.

Heisman for Colt
what do you want to bet

that tomorrow morning there’s virtually zero articles questioning Bama’s validity in the national championship picture like there were this morning?

Alabama might be just slightly better than Nebraska
+1
only difference is Arenas and special teams
Nebraska is not far from being 12-0

The had a fluke game against ISU
Lost to Va Tech on the last play
And got smashed by Tech…but still they are good team.

Bama is going to keep all there 1st place votes i guarantee u
Lucky for us if we take care of Nebraska it won't matter
Colorado recovers a fumble
Rodney Stewart with 108 rush yards
I don't relly want Nebraska to lose
Did you know...

That every team on UT’s schedule, except for UTEP, Colorado, and Kansas is bowl eligible this year? (And KU can become eligible if they can beat Mizzou.) I thought we had a weak schedule?

Both Florida and Bama have played 4 teams who aren't bowl eligible. (Ok, I'm bored...)
One more lackluster performance by Ingram vs Florida

and it’s back to Colt vs Tebow for the Heisman. A part of me hopes Tebow wins it ala 2005.

Alabama rushing stats

richardson 15 for 50 rushing
Ingram 16 attempts for 32 yards

dismal performance

against a dismal auburn d

what's the word on Lee?
Man, I'm still really upset about the way Auburn finished that game

Malzahn turned into a giant wimp the last few drives for Auburn, and that two minute drill, if you can even call of that, was an abomination. Do coaches not learn basic math?

Forgive me, I'm confused

Until the very end of the Auburn/Alabama game, I didn’t hear anything about TCU or Cincinnati watching this game with glee (we heard that ALL GAME LONG yesterday). I didn’t hear the CBS announcers hope that the Auburn defense takes out the Alabama QB (almost a quote from the ESPN guys – hoping that Colt would get taken out of the game). I didn’t hear that Auburn’s quarterback was the greatest in the history of football (cf. ESPN’s constant yammering that Johnson was the next coming of Tebow, who is, in fact, Christ).

After Texas wins, I heard two basic things: (1) Texas should drop in the polls, because they should have really blown A&M out, and (2) if it weren’t for McCoy, Texas would have lost. I guess the people suggesting that Texas should drop just pushed us to #2 since the Auburn/Alabama game was much closer than the Texas game (and Texas was only behind for a couple of minutes in the first quarter) — especially since Alabama had to come from behind. I also guess that quarterbacks aren’t an integral part of anyone’s team, so having the most accurate QB in the history of the game (with the most wins) is pure happenstance.

Is this simple anti-Texas BS, or can any of this be justified?

Hook ’em, dammit.

CBS and ESPN is really banking on Texas falling giving TCU or Cincy a shot at the title game. We’re in the way right now and it’s eating at them. A heavily favored Texas struggles against an in-state rival on their home turf for a 10 point victory. On the flip side Alabama was also heavily favored, but they showed grit and determination coming back from 14 down to beat their in-state rival by 6 when their Heisman candidate RB is held to 32 yards. I guess in the SEC those 32 yards = 155 yards and 3 TDs in the Big 12 so it’s all good, bleh.

Let the haters hate, as long as the Horns handle their business and keep winning they can’t do anything about it.

On the bright side, the ESPN team for the Backyard Brawl said the Heisman is Colt's

The flashed the numbers for Ingram and McCoy up on the screen, and even without looking at Colt’s rushing numbers (which were almost six times those of Ingram’s), they reached the obvious conclusion that Colt wins out over Ingram at this point. Of course there’s another week to go, but I think Colt can definitely wrap it up with at least a solid performance and victory next Saturday. Ingram would have to carry the Tide on his back with a huge game-winning performance to wrest control back.

The one troubling factor is that the SEC love right now is currently split between Tebow and Ingram. If Ingram fades, Tebow gets more of it, so he could actually become the weakest Heisman winner in more than a decade.

Case (for his brother) Closed!

2 teams fighting their in-state rival. Both teams on the road in a hostile environment. Both teams receiving a fight tougher than they ever imagined. Stakes incredibly high – a loss costing them a shot at the MNC. One Heisman contender passes, runs, punts, and leads his team to victory with a passion. The other Heisman contender sits on the bench with his 2 ypc while his backup tries to pull out the game. Now who should win the Heisman? Obviously Colt is the Heisman winner.

7-0 Boise State over Nevada first quarter
Wow

Can’t believe WVU pulled off the win. I had been hoping for a 10-1 Pitt vs. 11-0 Cincinnati next week, but no such luck. Congrats to Bill Stewart, who doesn’t have his team playing quite like Rodriguez did, but is really a much better guy to have working with those kids. It’s always nice to see him do well.

Damn

Boise looking good right now.

Don't look now

but after Boise St. went up 27-3 on Nevada, the Wolfpack scored two unanswered touchdowns (one missed the extra point) to make it 27-16 at halftime.

Greetings, Horns fans!

Enjoyed the neutral take on the Bama-au game. I know this thread is 2 days dead, but I thought I would throw a couple of things out there:

1) Ingram was not ‘pulled in the clutch’ as suggested by some. He was injured late in the 4th.

2) Richardson has seen significant playing time pretty much all season long no matter the situation. You are correct, though-there is not that much of a drop-off, if any, when Richardson is spelling Ingram.

3) Concerning the ‘Alabama is just a little better than Nebraska’ comment. I had the same thought about y’all while watching the TX-A&M game (very Arkansas-like: can score points, but no running game or defense). I guess it all depends on which games you watch.

Hopefully, we’ll find out for sure in Pasadena. Good luck with the ’huskers! Roll Tide!
