Forget Baylor. Just... let's move on. Texas could have and should have won. And didn't. A recurring theme for this squad, and the reason it's so difficult to imagine this group winning three or four straight games in the next two weeks. Regardless, we're going Dancing. Let's enjoy it while we can. First up, a look at Texas' resume and projected bracket seeding.
Flawed though it is, we know the NCAA Tournament committee and every pundit with a soapbox will be citing RPI data galore on Selection Sunday, so we'll start the look at Texas' resume through that prism:

Projected 9's: Ohio State, Boston College, A&M, Wisconsin
Projected 10's: Dayton, Michigan, Minnesota, Siena
Projected 11's: San Diego State, Utah State, Penn State, Maryland
(Note: Projected 12-seed USC just won the Pac 10 tournament. Throw them in the mix, too. Also -- cry if they show up on our line tomorrow night. This Texas offense versus a Tim Floyd defense wouldn't be pretty.)

I'm liking the thought of anything that means we don't have to play a number 1
seed the second round. But hey, if our shots start droppin, Dexy has rest, and we play defense like everyone knows we can, look out!

and I have to say…I would love to play memphis in the second round..I want Payback..and memphis isn’t nearly as good as they were last year.

Exactly! To think we can run with Memphis right now is crazy....
I appreciate that it would be nice to have a shot at payback, but I think the game might be a lot closer to last years than we’d like to believe…

Definetly want to stay away from USC
They can get out and guard you, Texas would have a very tough time handling the pressure they put on ASU.
Looking at the those 9-11 seeds I think texas could beat anyone of those teams and should. I always hope we get matched up in the same “POD” as Memphis. I don’t think they are really that great and I think Texas could pull off an upset there.

Forget about seedings, forget about game locations
all that matters is who we play. Of course you’d think we’d have a better chance to beat lower seeded teams, but it’s not always the case.
For one thing, UConn without Dyson could be a favorable matchup for us. Without Dyson, they are similar to us in that they don’t have many perimeter threats outside of one player. What if Pittman can show Thabeet who’s Sexy?
Pitt plays a tough, defensive oriented game like we do, which pretty much guarantees the game will be close. What if Blair gets in foul trouble (a recurring problem for him)? Same goes for Louisville.
The only team I don’t want to mess with is UNC. They outclass us in almost every matchup, and the game is going to be in their backyard to make it worse.
We already know we can play a close game with Michigan St.
These are all a few things to think about before you overreact at getting a lower seed than expected (if it happens)

than the 11 seeds…………go figure.
I think we end up a 7 seed, and I would feel good about playing any of those projected 10 seeds for Texas. As for the possible 2 seeds…………..well, I think UT fans should just be concerned with winning the first game.

Yes, Memphis isn’t as good as last year. Memo just in—neither are we. Playing the best defensive team in the nation doesn’t sound like a recipe for victory to me. I think there’s a HUGE difference between the 1 seeds and 2 seeds this year. After Louisville, UConn, Pitt, UNC, and Memphis, who’s the next best non-Big XII team in the country? Is it Duke? Michigan State? I love those matchups. We wouldn’t be favored and probably wouldn’t win, but I think are chances are much, much better that we could pull the upset and play the next weekend.
