In a tradition as old as the Irish, it's Texas traveling to Houston to take on Rice in Reckling Park. Rice enters the game 10-5 and ranked #7 nationwide. Sadly there's no TV for this one, but there's surely to be a crowd here taking in St Patty's day.

Some keys:
- Austin Dicharry returns to the mound this time after a week off and will face the best competition he's seen all year. How will the freshman respond?
- On Sunday against Mizzou we saw freshman Morgan Mickam for the first time, scoring the game winner as a pinch runner. We saw Taylor Jungmann throw four near-perfect innings. We saw Brandon Loy pay the hot corner perfectly. We saw Jordan Etier score the tying run. In other words, the freshman are playing important roles.
- The bats were asleep much of the weekend against Mizzou, can they be awoken against elite competition?
Are you going to blog the game? I'll be stuck at work, so I need some distraction.

Total effing screw job by the umpires
I have never heard such in my life.
Russell Moldenhauer makes a catch on a fly-out to right, but the umpires don’t rule it a catch initially, so the runner on second takes off for home. The umpires confer and agree that Moldenhauer made the catch, but not only do they not allow Texas to double off the runner who was on second, they ALLOW the run to count. Absolutely freaking ridiculous. How does a run score on a fly-out with the lead runner at second, who took off BEFORE the ball was caught?
bassale47 - March 17, 2009
I was there, that was insane. The runner should have been returned to first base.

The only reason Augie wasn’t ejected was because he was right.
