Baseball Tries To Get Back On Track

[Update 8:13 PM] -- Final: 3-0 Texas

It's Texas-Dallas Baptist at the Disch. The Horns were #1 but have since dropped four straight and dropped to #9 in Baseball America. Dallas Baptist enters the season 12-6 and is always one of those midweek opponents that can give teams fits. One interesting development this weekend was the move of Brandon Loy to SS and Michael Torres to 3B. Loy is a great defender and Torres was pretty solid at 3B, but will the move stick?

Kevin Keyes had a great weekend at the plate against KU, but he was the only one.

Hopefully the offense will improve.

DB goes 1-2-3

Most have game for Texas here, I won’t be around from 730-830ish (Eastern) so updates will be loved

They actually didn't go 1-2-3...

according to Gametracker they got one hit.

Not thinking tonight

I saw the hit but it didn’t register :-)

Don't let it happen again. ;-)
2 out double for Belt

Moldenhauer up

Ground out ends the threat

You know, the problem with Texas the last 4 games is that they haven’t scored early. When they jump out on opponents early, they win. Simple as that, and it has stopped happening.

This time they go 1-2-3 for real

Hornbone, can you give gametracker updates till I get back?

I can try, I can't be too thorough because I have work to do.
Horns go 1-2-3, 0-0 through 2.
DB goes 1-2-3

Dicherry gets his 3rd strikeout.

Bottom of the third, 0-0.
Loy with a beautiful sac bunt
Lusson steals third
Tucker strikes out on the safety squeeze
We have to get better at getting the runner home from 3rd with 1 out

Otherwise small ball is just a waste of time

They were mentioning it's not the big hit the Lonhorns are needing, it's the productive out

I’d take a big hit though.

Torres singles, Lusson scores
Looks like Michael Torres singled home a run.

1-0 after 2.

U3 - K - BB - 4-3
Fast game

Headed to the 5th

2 pitches, 2 outs
seeing eye single
Fly out to retire side
Texas half of 5th coming up
Runners on 1st and 2nd
Fielders Choice - U4
Top of the 6th upcoming
They can't get that one opportune hit.
Back

Hornbone, doing nice work for a working man

rBr doing most of the work.
K, K, Double, K

Dicharry has 7 Ks

Mr. Cellophane =(
haha

Unsung hero, really.

Great job by their SS
How so?

Keeping that a single?

It looked like it was going to go through, he fielded it but the throw is late
Keyes!

He’s been the entire offense the last week

RBI double, 2-0 Horns
Most team RBIs on the season.
That's not saying much
He's the team's tallest midget.
He's the richest man on wall street

Zing!

Keyes doubles
Another offensive TO by Augie leads to Keyes big hit
2-0 through six.
8 Ks for Dicharry
Rupp singles, Lusson sac bunt
Holy crap!

A manufactured run! Rupp hammers a single to center, Lusson sac bunt, Loy (who has been playing great of late) RBI single…3-0 Bot 7

Loy singles, Rupp scores
Wild pitch, Loy to 2nd
Torres grounds out

3-0 Horns through 7

1 out double chases Dicharry

Beautiful outing though, 7 1/3, 4 H, 8 Ks

Shinaberry in
Pair of groundouts ends the threat

3-0 through 7.5

Wow

Did anyone else catch her?

Was she on gametracker?
Yes

Blonde, W-O-W hot!

Keyes hits one a ton, but flys out
Ruffin in to close things

Leadoff single chases Shinaberry.
Strikeout, one away

Fly to left, two away
Ground to second ends it

Needed a win, got it 3-0

Offense still not great, but it was enough against a quality midweek opponent
