NCAA Baseball Day One Open Thread

Texas vs. Army is at 6 PM. Ironically for us the first weekend of the college baseball tourney takes place during one of our busiest weeks of the year. We're both working at Camp Dream Street (sorry for the shameless plug) and will hopefully checking in periodically during the day. Until then, enjoy the full day's schedule here. Some of the day's more interesting matchups:

Kansas vs. Coastal Carolina -- 1 PM

Texas A&M vs. Oregon State -- 2 PM

Missouri vs. Western Kentucky -- 3 PM

San Diego State vs. Virginia (will Strasburg pitch?) -- 6 PM

Oklahoma vs Witchita State -- 7 PM

UC Irvine vs. Fresno State (defending champs snuck in) -- 10 PM

Weather's going to be hot and sunny for the entire regional.

Strasburg was 1, A-Rod 3, Griffey, Jr. 2…. i am watching the texas stream so i wasn’t really paying attention until they got to one. Just another case of the ESPN hype-machine.

Football evaluators like to say that one can’t teach speed, which is a complete myth. But the kind of speed Strasburg has in his pitches sure as heck can’t be taught, and it doesn’t hurt that his control is nice. Either he’s juicing a ton or he’s indeed a once-in-a-generation prospect.

This is fun...

Streaming the Texas game while watching the Rangers make a come back on the first of a double header. The Stros are actually up 3-0 while Texas just kicked off the second game. And t-minus 30 minutes till Lakers-Nuggets.

see if i can try and get this thread going a little.

Horns are visiting team this game, I guess they do it off a coin flip to determine home and away. Texas is off to a much better offensive start than yesterday. Let’s just hope the pitching keeps going the same.
