Texas defeated Army tonight in stunning fashion, with a walk-off grand slam by Preston Clark when a little sac fly would have worked just fine. This team certainly has a flair for the dramatic. In any event, though, they will rest up for several days before welcoming Texas Christian to UFCUDFF for a best-of-three Super Regional for a trip to Rosenblatt Stadium.
Post your happiness here.

Something magical is taking shape.

I agree 100%
Teams just dont win in dramatic fashion two nights in a row and not have the mental edge over someone who just cruised through their regional. This is going to be on HELL of a June. I can’t wait.

Augie also said that he knew that Texas had some power,
and the potential to score a bunch of runs. It took 9 innings, but we saw it tonight. Let’s hope from now on we get a combination of great pitching and offense in the same game.
Hook ’em!

Just hours after setting all kinds of records
The Longhorns set another (if slightly more obscure) one. Congratulations to Preston Clark for the longest sacrifice bunt in the entire history of baseball! From Barking Carnival’s Scipio Tex:
We score 8 runs in the ninth after a key bases loaded double by Brandon Loy to tie it up followed by Preston Clarkâs sacrifice bunt that travels 370 feet over the wall for a grand slam and the win.

Preston Clark -- what an amazing story.
After injuries derailed the last two seasons for him, he was a great teammate this year and there were never any rumors of complaints about not playing much, as Cameron Rupp played first base, Torres took over at third, and Belt remained entrenched at first. No, he just waited, knowing that he would eventually have a chance and is taking advantage of it. He’s arguably the hottest hitter on the team when the Longhorns need him to most and it would be amazing to see him continue to hit the ball hard against TCU this week.

Seems like another chapter in this story being written.

I unfortunately picked up a shift waiting tables tonight.....
and found out about the win from a buddy after I got off. I couldn’t believe it as I’d had a few updates throughout the night and the last one was in the 8th and my buddy said he was pretty sure we’d lose, but it would be ok.
What a surprise to hear we won….hook em! Let’s get back to Omaha boys!

I was looking for a SneeyJinx tonite
But with everyone asking “so…what time does the game start tomorrow?”…I think they all did it for ya.

Whoops
I meant SneezyJinx. 34 innings in 24 hours makes my hand miss a few keys. Austin Wood, I am not
