Oh cruel computer, how thou torture me so. A monstrous Postgame React post, disappeared into the netherworld. The Cliff's Notes version: the win was a relief, McCoy's gotta settle into a groove, Newton & Buckner are keys to that happening, and the only players better than Texas' star sophomore defenders (AW, Thomas, E-Acho, and Keenan) were the seniors (Muck, Kindle, Houston, and Eddie Jones (edit: Jones is a fourth-year junior, duh).
I may try to whip up the full Postgame React yet (and will certainly post it if I can find it), but in the meantime, make plans to be at your computer tonight at 8:00 p.m. CT for a Texas Tech Postgame Podcast with myself and Scipio Tex from Barking Carnival.
The podcast page is here, or you can come to BON before the show starts where full details will be posted.

PB!
You gotta use that MS Word auto-recover, dude.
It may yet still be around somewhere… you might try following this guide to find it:

Working on it
If I don’t find it, I’ll take the time to rewrite it at some point… Frustrating though.

Eddie Jones is a senior?
I thought he redshirted 2006 or something, because MBTF lists him as a fourth-year junior.

Junior

I stoopid

Great, I’m glad he’ll be around to have his Orakpo season next year. I do wonder if he or Acho might end up moving to the other end spot or perhaps inside to replace Houston, although I think Howell’s the man next year at tackle.
By the way, Okafor did one heck of a job Saturday, even considering the flubbed chance to recover the fumble. He’s shown he’s ready for the big-time, even if he’s going to make a rookie mistake here and there.

The more I think about this game
The happier I am.
Does anyone else think that Tech may have possibly been the toughest team in the Big 12 for us to get past?
Tech beat Rice 55-10, while OSU beats them 41-24. OU is vunerable and Tech gets them in Lubbock. Nebraska, Kansas and Mizzou are all unknowns, but I think Tech has a decent shot of ending up 11-1 or 10-2 by the end of the year.
We were thinking of it as a revenge game, but the way the season’s shaped up so far, it may have been THE game.
We’ll see how OU does against Miami, but we may have already beaten our big bad wolf of this year.

I'm happy with the win
But I definitely do not consider Tech the toughest team in the Big 12 for us. It may very well be that the margin of victory is the closest this year (that would be nice), but if our offense continues to play horrific in the first half of games, we’re going to be in trouble against OU and in Stillwater.
TheElusiveShadow - September 21, 2009
I’m thinking the same thing. We cannot expect that we can always play catch up in the second half, especially against OU’s defense.

We gave Tech a ton of help
If Colt had been half of what he was last year, we would have had a 3 score lead at the half. Offense laid an egg again.

Regardless of how bad they are
OU will, for the forseeable future, always be our toughest opponent. They hate us. We hate them. The would love nothing more than to ruin our season. While Tech put up a good fight, they’re not the quality of OU or OSU. Remember, our offense has been struggling. This is not an indication that Tech’s defense is good. Tech’s offense is the same as it always is – quirky. I thought our defense did a fantastic job of containing the receivers (especially in the first half).

OU is getting it together
if you don’t think they are our most dangerous opponent, you’re crazy. If the offense piddles around in that one, the game will be lost. Their D is really looking dominant, and the OL is improving (albeit against soft competition). We’ll learn a lot after the Miami game, but they will be ready to play come 10/17.

Looking forward to this
Evidently Colt had the Flu (Not sure if that has been posted or not)
In the end a win is a win, and I will take it. Newton looked great, Buckner is a pure stud. And if Colt plays better we win by 21 I think.
Defense looked really sharp, Tech is going to score points and move the ball, holding them to 3 points in the first half was the key to the game.
blazzinken - September 21, 2009
It was either here or over at Barking Carnival,
but someone mentioned that we are a Malcolm Williams catch away from a 41-24 convincing win.
Also, I’m not sure that the flu symptoms are what was bothering McCoy. It seems to me that whenever he targets Shipley, the ball is placed perfectly. With Chiles and Mal Williams, Colt seems to be trying to force or aim the ball, perhaps because he doesn’t trust them as much as Jordan. Perhaps he’s trying to rifle the ball in there and that’s why we’re seeing the inaccuracy?

I don't know if Tech is our toughest opponent, but it might be the most frustrating year after year
Playing against Tech is so frustrating because no lead every really seems safe and those 7-9 yard pass plays are so infuriating to watch.
