WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT
Oregon-Boise should be the prime time game. Really, is anyone excited about NC St vs. South Carolina? Oh wait, it’s football. Go Wolfpack!
Watching these awesome plays just show how important it is for the QB to sell the fakes. If you watch Peyton Manning, he is so great at concealing a play too. Great stuff.
I thought it was one of the smartest gambles I've ever seen.
You got the big dog down, just put him away. Boise State didn’t have anything to lose and the whole world to gain.
I think I yelled about as loud as have for any Texas game when they did that, saying, “Bob stoops, you smart ass sonofabitch, you just got your face rubbed in it.” Stoops got out-Stooped on those sequences.
A great way to end a season and a fine way to start one tonight. l
but aforementioned game has earned BSU my undying support. (although I think we can all appreciate the screwjob Oregon gave to the sooners a few years back). Good luck out there on the smurf turf tonight, Broncos.
Probably my favorite non-Longhorn game I have seen.
The only thing that irks me is how people (sooner fans especially) say that BSU’s trickery was the only reason they won the game. Obviously, it had a big part, but they forget how much they dominated much of that game. Even in the highlights it shows BSU go up by 18 with 8 min. left in the 3rd.
I dont know if it is just me, but that just isnt something that pumps me up for the game. I love when a song gets me going, that just doesnt do it for me…
It’s my first opportunity to watch a football game with my six-week-old son, and he is completely and totally keeping his eyes on the HD screen. A very good sign for the months and years to come.
Seems like a dumb phrase for NC State to put on all their shirts for this game. I say we get “Beat Oklahoma” shirts for the game against Oklahoma State.
that viewpoint, my only counter point is that they’re obviously not lighting the world on fire on offense either, that deep, and their d playing well. It was possible…
That wasn’t blatant or anything. As the Big 12 officials are blind to the holding call, I guess SEC officials don’t know the technicalities of the facemask penalty.
“Just a kids calf scramble. Animals running around without any plays or game plans or anything. Like Barry Switzer was coaching them.” Switched because the Garcia love was getting a bit much.
the traditional jerseys we wear. The Boise jerseys double as reflective running shirts during low light hours and the Oregon jerseys look like something out of the XFL…
SC and NC State couldn’t score because their offenses played mostly crappy. Boise State can’t score because their kicker’s nerves are getting the best of him. Lovely.
Oregon's going to have to get their game together at the half
or this is going to be a runaway. Hasn’t Oregon run like 4 drives that were all 3 and out? And Boise’s a couple botched plays and bad calls away from 21-0
…in the second half. Why? Could they play any worst? I don’t think so. And the defense has been pretty darn good despite being under the gun all game. If the offense can get something — ANYTHING — going, Oregon could pull this out…
Despite playing horrifically, they’re down only 13. That’s two scores. All those FG attempts (and missed ones at that) may come back and bite Boise State.
Biggest game of the year — possibly the entire school. They SHOULD be this pumped up. Hence the stout defense. They’re just running on emotion right now. Also why the offense keeps making stupid mistakes. Too much emotion. It’ll go in the second half. The defense SHOULD tire themselves out from all the first half emotions. I’ve seen it before in these “biggest games in school history” games.
Yeah, and it's Boise's fault for leaving their first two drives with no points
This game easily could have been out of reach by this point.
I find it hard to believe that Oregon’s going to pull it together on both sides of the ball though, because they’re looking horrific and are going to need the entire team to step up to make something happen
Obviously not a conference game, doesn’t impact the standings etc. etc. But really, 30 minutes to get a first down? Oregon looks completely asleep at the wheel, in what they themselves have stated is a revenge game.
Driving towards their first score now. Maybe what they need to turn it around.
I love how he is already pumping up BSU’s BCS chances should they win this one. Certainly Boise has a good chance to run the table given their schedule, but if this is at all indicative of how Oregon’s season will look, NOBODY will be impressed.
…doesn’t the QB need to READ the defense, and not just hand it off to the RB? Seems like in the safety and this failed 4th down convo., Masoli has predetermined his decision
oregon the mighty explosive offense scores 8 pts and a bonus punch. They had a chance to capitalize off mistakes. They made mistakes, boise st made mistakes right after, and they still couldnt punch it into the end zone. So much for an exciting game
Like, really bad. I’m pretty sure Chiles could have led our second team offense in a win that game, considering the amount of gifts the Ducks got from Boise.
I agree that the punch is not as bad as some other stuff
But even some Oregon fans, apparently, over at their SBN blog, are calling for him to get kicked off the team or suspended for the year. It probably has to do with his past behavior and the publicity this is going to get, being on national TV and all. Plus, he didn’t exactly walk away calmly after he hit the guy. He almost went into the stands and was struggling against security.
but he wasn’t trying to start anything like that. and props to chris peterson for jumping in after his player tapped Blount and berating him (which of course is what distracted him and let blount get the cheap shot in).
no doubt blounts move was unacceptable. THe lesson here: if you’re gonna talk shit, you better be ready to face the consequences (which can refer to the shit talk blount did before the game and the boise st player did after the game)
You know these guys were amped up and we can only imagine how the taunts made it into pregame speeches. The statement had already been made on the field with a decisive game control defense by Boise State. Why seek a guy out and rub it in, unless he’s a sooner.? jk…maybe.
Even then the battle belongs on the field within the time limits of the game. I consider it classless on both guys account. The punch was obvioulsy assault and should be disciplined, but the confrontation was sensless to begin with and shouldn’t go without recorse either.
If a coach or team leader is going to use taunting statements from another team for fire then he better have a handle on his guys. Look, you dominate the guy, embarass him legitimately on national tv where it counts the most between the goal lines. The highlights and the stats will make a mcuh more poignant statement than you could ever hope to.
I think both should be sat down. The punch and rant afterwards would take deeper consideration, but the insite would not go unscathed.
A learning opportunity for all. Strong team leadership can not be undervalued. Motivation is only a part of that.

really chanting overrated when they’re the higher ranked team?
Houstonhorn - September 4, 2009
Not to harp on Coach Bob but...
“Was there ever a game that you can remember in college football, that got as much attention as [Boise State vs. Oklahoma Fiesta Bowl]?”
Um………….yes. Yes I can. Many in fact. However given your apparent brain damage I understand if you cannot.
the chairman211 - September 4, 2009
Oregon sucks.
Maybe they can pull it together by the time they get SC at home, but dang, what an embarrassing performance.
TheElusiveShadow - September 4, 2009
Wow
Frustration punch. Haha. Don’t blame others when you suck it up.
TheElusiveShadow - September 4, 2009
So much for handshakes.
HornPossessed - September 4, 2009
WOW
Blount just punched a Boise St. player in the face right in front of Peterson.
HornPossessed - September 4, 2009
Oh Great When i stop Watching the Exciting Stuff Happens
Stupid Ducks.
iamjackburton - September 4, 2009
Aww man that dude went straight to the ground.
Blount can throw a punch, looked like he was tyring to throw some at the cops too.
2Cor12:9 - September 4, 2009
Just Saw the Replay on ESPN. Classic Thuggery.
He shoulda gone to Miami. He’s from Florida, right?
iamjackburton - September 4, 2009
All I thought was, You got knoced the blank out!
girlslikefootball2 - September 4, 2009
His teammates are pissed at him.
Rightfully so.
billyzane - September 4, 2009
More punches landed than rushing yards
One punch, -5 rushing yards.
He damn near mixed it up with the stadium security there.
the chairman211 - September 4, 2009
What a thug
Silentjay - September 4, 2009
Loved the backpeddling
With about 4 guys in blue charging him.
chairmanT - September 4, 2009
oregon the mighty explosive offense scores 8 pts and a bonus punch. They had a chance to capitalize off mistakes. They made mistakes, boise st made mistakes right after, and they still couldnt punch it into the end zone. So much for an exciting game
MJY6087 - September 4, 2009
Oregon was atrocious
Like, really bad. I’m pretty sure Chiles could have led our second team offense in a win that game, considering the amount of gifts the Ducks got from Boise.
TheElusiveShadow - September 4, 2009
So how will they be without Blount? LOL.
I’m guessing entire year suspension.
iamjackburton - September 4, 2009
Can't be any worse
-5 yards on 8 carries
7Swords of Salat - September 4, 2009
You guys are insane.
billyzane - September 4, 2009
I agree that the punch is not as bad as some other stuff
But even some Oregon fans, apparently, over at their SBN blog, are calling for him to get kicked off the team or suspended for the year. It probably has to do with his past behavior and the publicity this is going to get, being on national TV and all. Plus, he didn’t exactly walk away calmly after he hit the guy. He almost went into the stands and was struggling against security.
TheElusiveShadow - September 4, 2009
Heat of the moment.
We’re all prone to extreme reactions when we see something atrocious like that. Then we actually think about it and realize we’re being ridiculous.
billyzane - September 4, 2009
Well if it was me, that's what I would do
unless it’s Sergio were talking about, then we would just have a heart to heart.
2Cor12:9 - September 4, 2009
make him do community service. Suspend him for one quarter
Just kidding
BUt if you look at it, Boise St player started contact first with should tap
MJY6087 - September 4, 2009
yeah, douchey move.
but he wasn’t trying to start anything like that. and props to chris peterson for jumping in after his player tapped Blount and berating him (which of course is what distracted him and let blount get the cheap shot in).
billyzane - September 4, 2009
no doubt blounts move was unacceptable. THe lesson here: if you’re gonna talk shit, you better be ready to face the consequences (which can refer to the shit talk blount did before the game and the boise st player did after the game)
MJY6087 - September 4, 2009
I just wish
Howard Cossell could of announced the punch, down goes (insert random boise st.’s player name) I mean that was just cold…
Houstonhorn - September 4, 2009
he gave him the business
burrito - September 4, 2009
Overamped?
Motivation is only a part of that.
orangetower - September 4, 2009
Now Blount is suspended for the year...
What an idiot!
