ACC, Big 10, and SEC all give me something to watch at work
I can’t decide if I should go check out some of the SXSW films tonight, or watch some pretty high quality basketball.

Where's Texas?
Oh, wait. Baylor is better than Texas at basketball.
Sweet.
Peter Bean - March 12, 2010
Ouch
The wound is still fresh. I got hit in the same spot last night in which I was attacked on Saturday.
awiggo - March 12, 2010
Yea, very fresh
When I woke up this morning I felt almost as bad as I felt the day after the Bama game. I just lost all hope after last night.
blazzinken - March 12, 2010
No way that that loss can sting as bad as the loss to Bama!
Sunkist - March 12, 2010
Your right
But, I was left feeling hopeless after both. And that is not a good feeling.
blazzinken - March 12, 2010
I'm going to a wedding this weekend of Baylor grads
I’m sooooo happy for them…
TheElusiveShadow - March 12, 2010
They allow same sex marriage in Baptist country?
laxtonto - March 12, 2010
Flagged.
for truth :(
bamfor - March 12, 2010
By the way
Our defensive efficiency rank fell below our offensive rank for the first time all year. Our freefall has been as much a defensive collapse as offensive, if not more so.
Peter Bean - March 12, 2010
Mostly Defense
You can’t give up 86 points in a 71 possession game and expect to win. Horrible.
awiggo - March 12, 2010
Taking their sweet ass time getting down court will do that.
’Twas pitiful.
Infield Elephant - March 12, 2010
Ugh
That drove me crazier than anything — the transition fails. Bad halfcourt defense is one thing; getting beat down the court is just preventable.
This team is… well, you know.
Peter Bean - March 12, 2010
I know it's a tem sport, and a team loss
I also hate to call out individual players… but Pittman was horrible. I’m sorry but when you’re 6’10" you need to put the ball in the bucket when you’re standing directly underneath it. He seems to still have the vertical of a 400 pounder, all night he was going up WEAK. It cost us any chance we had at an inside game, and put all the pressure on the guards.
jmptexas - March 12, 2010
It appears Trey Metoyer commited to OU
kcmorse - March 12, 2010
Some good early games
Duke trailing by 6 with 3 minutes left
blazzinken - March 12, 2010
Woops
They are actually up 6, misread the text.
blazzinken - March 12, 2010
Michigan up 2 on OSU with 2.2 seconds left
Peter Bean - March 12, 2010
Wow
and Ohio St. was a possible team we could play in the 2nd round. As absolutely disastrous as this season has been, we’re a few good matchups away from getting to the Sweet 16. Crazy how much this tournament depends on luck.
goingforthecorner - March 12, 2010
And an even bigger wow . . .
. . . with the way it ended.
Why would you EVER not put a man on the inbounder? I never get that.
Hopkins Horn - March 12, 2010
Horrific defensive strategy by Michigan
Peter Bean - March 12, 2010
Seriously . . .
. . . is there a logical reason in such a situation (team has to go length of the court with 3 seconds or less) why you would ever not put a man on the player imbounding? Yes, I know not doing so gives 5-on-4 defense elsewhere, but I’d take 4-on-4 every single time when you can prevent a clean inbounds pass.
Hopkins Horn - March 12, 2010
And Turner hits a buzzer beater to win it
WOW
Peter Bean - March 12, 2010
Amazing
blazzinken - March 12, 2010
Evan Turner for Heisman
goingforthecorner - March 12, 2010
Alabama up 35-30 on #2 Kentucky at halftime
goingforthecorner - March 12, 2010
I love march madness!
blazzinken - March 12, 2010
I think because of the Horns' collapse . . .
. . . I’ve been looking forward to it less this year than any other. I just had the Michigan-OSU game on as background noise as I work. And then you see endings like that and I start getting sucked back in . . .
Hopkins Horn - March 12, 2010
wow
I would normally assume it won’t last, but no telling this week.
Infield Elephant - March 12, 2010
Did OSU's coach run and scream at the other team's coach after the winning shot.
It certainly looked like it. An official actually grabbed him and brought him back to his side.
Texas Wahoo - March 12, 2010
I saw the same thing
Hopkins Horn - March 12, 2010
Looked like Thad was talking smack!
Love the fire!
Sunkist - March 12, 2010
By the way, the lady 'horns are playing the Aggies right now (down 16-9)
Texas Wahoo - March 12, 2010
Down 4 at half, 34- 30
blazzinken - March 12, 2010
We must be turning the ball over a lot
They have 13 more shots than we do (almost 50%!), but we have one more rebound.
Texas Wahoo - March 12, 2010
Solid half for A&M
Aggies lead Kansas 38-35 at half.
KU has 12 turnovers in first 20 minutes. Not good.
awiggo - March 12, 2010
Georgia Tech
a half away from locking up their tourney bid. Yellow Jackets lead Maryland 41-25.
How the hell did Duke let Maryland split the ACC title?
awiggo - March 12, 2010
Ags up on Kansas
51 – 48, 11:37
Infield Elephant - March 12, 2010 via mobile

Infield Elephant - March 12, 2010 via mobile
Aggies Done
A&M played well for a half. Down big now.
awiggo - March 12, 2010
Tom Penders and Houston
will pla in the C-USA championship game tomorrow for an unlikely NCAA berth. Gross.
awiggo - March 12, 2010
Good ACC game
Terps were down huge at half but fought back. Still down three though.
awiggo - March 12, 2010
Wow
Not sure how Maryland came out with that one
Infield Elephant - March 12, 2010
64-62 GT
:31 left, Maryland ball
Infield Elephant - March 12, 2010
Vasquez not even close
GT at the line. May be it here.
Infield Elephant - March 12, 2010
hit em both
game
Infield Elephant - March 12, 2010
Ha ha
Vasquez and Gary Williams crying at end of game.
Ga Tech wraps up NCAA berth.
awiggo - March 12, 2010
UCLA up on Cal at half
Bruins have been terrible this year. Now, they are just a good half away from essentially an NCAA play-in game.
That’s how bad the Pac 10 is.
awiggo - March 12, 2010
Baylor & K State tied up
63 all, 7:20
can’t…stop…watching…basketball.
Infield Elephant - March 12, 2010
West Virginia escapes ND comeback bid
Tyler Hansbrough’s little brother missed a three for the win.
awiggo - March 12, 2010
K State
getting the best of Baylor late.
Man, it is nice to see guards who can hit outside jumpers consistently.
awiggo - March 12, 2010
Dominique Sutton for K State
has played an incredible game.
awiggo - March 12, 2010
Jeremiah Masoli will not be playing for Oregon this season he is suspended for the season. He was found Guilty on burglary charges
kcmorse - March 12, 2010
ACC
No. 1, 7, 11, and 12 seeds are alive in the semifinals.
Duke in great position to win tournament and grab last No. 1 seed.
awiggo - March 12, 2010
Winners and Losers today
Winners—Illinois, Georgia Tech, California, and San Diego State may have all secured bids with their wins today.
On their way—Mississippi State and Minnesota took huge steps toward at-large selections but are not there yet.
Losers—Va Tech and Florida. Both are still probably in but far from safely. Mississippi is done with their quarterfinal loss.
