rendition of the national anthem. The poor old guy couldn’t cut it. Really, they couldn’t get someone under 65 years old to sing?
The flowers and displays in front of the talking heads looks like somebody went to the dollar store to throw some flowers and beads at it. This is off to a BAD start.
Than my explanation of how an offense built around a single player is doomed without that player.. Actually thats simple but Bama fans are a lot like aggies.
McElroy gave an interview basically calling out Jet teammates. He may have been correct, but you don’t do that stuff publicly and certainly don’t do that as a rookie backup QB.
This is like all the bad Saints-Falcons games from my childhood. Forced to watch them due to NFL regional coverage in the 70’s – before the NFL was allowed in Tampa, Charlotte and Nashville.
I’m a realist. Saban is a very good coach and an even better recruiter. Sure, he is slimy, but he is chameleon. He can adjust to whatever athletic department will pony up the big bucks. (I use the term puny up the bucks in respect to the old SW Conf and our friends in North Dallas.) If he knows that Bellmont won’t accept that behavior, he won’t do it.
I don’t know if he will ever leave Alabama, but if Dodds called, he would definitely answer the phone. Texas would be one of the few programs he would probably consider just for the money and prestige.
I am one of the few who think they got the title game right as messed up as it is to have 2 teams from the same division. At the end of the day I think Bama and LSU are the 2 best teams in the country.

I just think it unfair that LSU had to play Bama again. Travesty and a farce. And how the pundits ignored the plane crash was a travesty. W/out that crash, Cowboy doesn’t lose.

The possible choices left in the top 10, when you filter out the teams that lost either their conference or their bowl appearance, are OSU and Oregon. OSU won the highest-ranked conference and had only one loss; Oregon won a weaker conference and had two losses. OSU clearly trumps Oregon.
When I met her there in 1982, her family ragged on me about Texas; claimed Texas was afraid to play LSU after losing to LSU in the Cotton Bowl in the early 1960s; chanted “Tiger Bait, Tiger Bait” until they were hoarse; gloated ad infinitum about their NCs and about how they have more crystal trophies than Texas (even though one represents only half a championship and Texas has more NCs); and have gone on and on and on in juvenile fashion about how great they are, how they dominate, how they own Alabama, how their conference is superior, and how Texas sucks. I don’t have to listen to that shit for awhile now. That’s what I won.
Apparently a minority opinion around here. It was the National Championship game of the sport I love – why would I not watch? I thought Alabama’s defense played awesomely. LSU was a deer-in-the-headlights the whole game – totally outmatched. Alabama deserves the title most definitely, although I wouldn’t mind seeing a +1 game against Oklahoma State (who certainly should have had a shot at the title if not shooting themselves in the foot with that one loss). Can’t wait until next season begins. Hook ’em!
I wish Colt hadn’t gotten injured. But UT can’t rely on one player, and ultimately he would have endured his worst nightmare since Nebraska.
This was a defensive chessmatch that the ADD generation can’t understand. OU and OSU would have gotten killed, giving up 40 points and may scoring 14 if either had made it—which they didn’t because they choked.
Mack Brown has UT headed in the right direction, playing real football.

I just got back from New Orleans after watching the Tide win another national championship. If you want a playoff, like the SEC tried to do before, you need to tell your Commissioner to vote for it. Also, boycott the PAC-12, B1G and the Rose Bowl. They PAC-12 and B1G are the ones against a playoff.

I’m a realist. Saban is a very good coach and an even better recruiter. Sure, he is slimy, but he is chameleon. He can adjust to whatever athletic department will pony up the big bucks. (I use the term puny up the bucks in respect to the old SW Conf and our friends in North Dallas.) If he knows that Bellmont won’t accept that behavior, he won’t do it.
I don’t know if he will ever leave Alabama, but if Dodds called, he would definitely answer the phone. Texas would be one of the few programs he would probably consider just for the money and prestige.

I am one of the few who think they got the title game right as messed up as it is to have 2 teams from the same division. At the end of the day I think Bama and LSU are the 2 best teams in the country.

The possible choices left in the top 10, when you filter out the teams that lost either their conference or their bowl appearance, are OSU and Oregon. OSU won the highest-ranked conference and had only one loss; Oregon won a weaker conference and had two losses. OSU clearly trumps Oregon.

My wife is from BR.
When I met her there in 1982, her family ragged on me about Texas; claimed Texas was afraid to play LSU after losing to LSU in the Cotton Bowl in the early 1960s; chanted “Tiger Bait, Tiger Bait” until they were hoarse; gloated ad infinitum about their NCs and about how they have more crystal trophies than Texas (even though one represents only half a championship and Texas has more NCs); and have gone on and on and on in juvenile fashion about how great they are, how they dominate, how they own Alabama, how their conference is superior, and how Texas sucks. I don’t have to listen to that shit for awhile now. That’s what I won.

I am glad I watched the game
Apparently a minority opinion around here. It was the National Championship game of the sport I love – why would I not watch? I thought Alabama’s defense played awesomely. LSU was a deer-in-the-headlights the whole game – totally outmatched. Alabama deserves the title most definitely, although I wouldn’t mind seeing a +1 game against Oklahoma State (who certainly should have had a shot at the title if not shooting themselves in the foot with that one loss). Can’t wait until next season begins. Hook ’em!

The most exciting BCSCG was when UT beat USC.
I wish Colt hadn’t gotten injured. But UT can’t rely on one player, and ultimately he would have endured his worst nightmare since Nebraska.
This was a defensive chessmatch that the ADD generation can’t understand. OU and OSU would have gotten killed, giving up 40 points and may scoring 14 if either had made it—which they didn’t because they choked.
Mack Brown has UT headed in the right direction, playing real football.

If you want a playoff
I just got back from New Orleans after watching the Tide win another national championship. If you want a playoff, like the SEC tried to do before, you need to tell your Commissioner to vote for it. Also, boycott the PAC-12, B1G and the Rose Bowl. They PAC-12 and B1G are the ones against a playoff.
