"The mother is going to send the thing out," Porterville (Miss.) Kemper County coach Kelvin Young told SNY.tv Friday by phone. "She's going to send everything out."
Asked when Pollard might announce, Young said, "I have no idea. It's all going through the mother."

The deadline for the late signing period for college basketball players is May 16. Mizzou, G'town, and 'Bama are still in the mix with us on Pollard. Would hate to see him light us up for G'town when we meet in the Jimmy V Classic.
scared yet? feel your stomach sinking? it should! Because when i clicked the ESPN competition for said commercial, voted again, and, out of curiousity, checked the leaderboard and saw this:
1. Texas AM = 47759
2. Nebraska = 45548
.
.
.
.
19. Texas = 4601, i was in total disbelief.
Time to either push Longhorns by word of mouth and media, or vote Nebraska ;^)
Seriously! vote TEXAS everyday and start now!!! go to top of BON and click and vote! spread the word! pleeeeeeaaassse
thought you all may find this interesting. Article on the Big from a Clemson website. take it for what it is worth
http://cemetery-hill.com/2012-articles/may/details-of-rumored-big-12-expansion-with-clemson-a-fsu-emerge.html
On Thursday evening Cemetery Hill spoke with sources familiar with the discussion of Big 12 expansion and learned the following information:
- Per these sources Clemson and Florida State will likely join the Big 12 in all sports effective in 2013. At this time the Big 12 will only expand by two teams, and possibly look to add additional teams in 2014 or beyond.
- The new Big 12 commisioner will be announced on Friday as Bob Bowlsby, who is leaving his post as AD at Stanford. We would not expect Bowlsby or anyone associated with this rumored expansion to acknowledge anything right away.
- The new Big 12 TV contract with the two new schools to be added we're told will approach 30 million per team.
- Approximately 3.5 million of the 30 million will be derived from the conference championship game.
-The first Big 12 Championship with the two new teams will be played at Cowboy Stadium aka Jerry World.
- The Big 12 is expected to contribute 10 million dollars per team to the ACC's buyout of 20 million. This is similar to what the Big 12 did with West Virginia.
- Rumors of Clemson and Florida State using the Big 12 as leverage for an invitation to the SEC have been charaterized as pure speculation by sources, who indicated these programs are Big 12 bound. We were also told that a move could be very swift after the BCS meetings in June.
From a financial standpoint, it's hard to see how Clemson and Florida State could turn down a deal like this, assuming these numbers are indeed accurate. Furthermore, the spectre of the ACC being left out of the proposed 4 team, RPI driven playoff system, makes a move of this nature almost a requirement if schools like Clemson and Florida State wish to compete for a national title.
However, much rumor and speculation has occured in the last few years with respect to conference realignment and expansion, so some degree of caution should be exercised until a formal annoucement is issued. With that said, our sources indicated representatives from Clemson and Florida State have been in Texas for meetings with the Big 12, and it's only a matter of time before a formal invitation is made to join the Big 12.
Will there be counters by the ACC that make staying put more attractive? Would the SEC intervene to protect their turf and extend an offer to Clemson and FSU or do they pursue only "new SEC media markets" Will the new BCS playoff take away the Orange Bowl and ACC/Big East affiliation? No matter what happens, the next few months will certainly be interesting to watch.

A dear friend of mine is in a model search contest where Most Votes Wins. You, dear readers, can help push her over the top. And yes, she's gorgeous, so you can vote with a clear conscience.
How to vote? Just click here, and follow the instructions to vote for Amy Lauber. You'll have to "Like" the product page before you can vote, but that's not such a bad thing, particularly if you like quality eyewear.
Thanks in advance for helping me with this big favor.
Oh, and for what it's worth, Amy has pledged that if she wins she will take photos of herself decked in beautiful burnt orange to send as a thank you card. And, because she went to a school without a football program, will root for the Texas Longhorns the rest of her life. Who are we to deny the fan base another beautiful fan?
So let's do this. Vote for Amy Lauber.
Here's how a few draft-eligible Mack Brown Curse candidates fared during and after last week's draft.
Darrell Scott (class of 2008) - "Privately committed" to Texas before changing his mind on or just before signing day and giving his signature to Colorado. (The change of heart was said to be spurred at least partly by the change at running backs coach from Ken Rucker to Major Applewhite.) He became disgruntled with his carries very early in his sophomore year at Colorado and eventually transferred to South Florida. His college career produced 19 more rushing yards than that of Fozzy Whittaker, and 6 fewer offensive touchdowns.
Undrafted - He signed as a free agent with Dallas
John Brantley (class of 2007) - Committed to Texas before de-committing and giving a verbal pledge to Florida a month and a half before signing day. Had an injury-plagued and inconsistent career with the Gators.
Undrafted - He signed as a free agent with Baltimore.
Antoine Hicks (class of 2008) - A three-star athlete from Mansfield who signed with Texas a year after fellow Mansfield athlete John Chiles. Four months after signing day it was reported that he failed to get a high enough ACT score to enroll, then somehow qualified at TCU and played at receiver for the Horned Frogs for four years. He was a valuable contributor but never a star at TCU and finished his career with 76 catches for 1,069 yards and 9 touchdowns, and he scored another 8 touchdowns on the ground. He was suspended before the Poinsettia Bowl his senior year due to an unspecified violation of school policy.
Undrafted - He is currently a free agent.
Broadening the qualifications for membership in the Mack Curse Club, there are the players who simply turned down a Texas offer and signed elsewhere.
Richetti Jones (class of 2007) - A four-star defensive end who spurned a Texas offer for Oklahoma State. Finished his college career with 11 sacks, or 0.5 less than Jackson Jeffcoat has recorded in his first two seasons.
Undrafted - He signed as a free agent with Arizona.
Stephen Good (class of 2008) - Committed to Oklahoma a year before signing day, over offers from Texas and several other schools. Graded as a five-star tackle by Rivals, he played guard at OU and started a grand total of 11 games in his career, or 4 more than the far less heralded Josh Cochran did as a true freshman at Texas, and barely a third of the 32 career starts by David Snow, who Texas signed out of the same class.
Undrafted - He is currently a free agent. Meanwhile, his OU teammate Donald Stephenson, who was only a three-star player coming out of high school, started at left tackle for two years and was just drafted by Kansas City in the third round.
Lennon Creer (class of 2007) - A four-star running back who signed with Tennessee despite a strong push from Texas, whose only running back signees that year were Fozzy Whittaker and Cody Johnson. Creer left Tennessee after his sophomore year and transferred to Louisiana Tech. Overall he had an unspectacular but fairly productive career, totaling over 2,600 yards and 24 touchdowns on the ground, but an injury-plagued senior season caused him to miss his last few games, and that - plus a very pedestrian 4.2 yards/carry average for the year - hurt whatever draft stock he had.
Undrafted - He signed as a free agent with Washington.
Then there are the players who signed with the good guys but left Texas and transferred elsewhere, usually because of playing time issues. No ill will is directed toward them.
G.J. Kinne (class of 2007) - A three-star quarterback who originally committed to Baylor but switched to Texas after John Brantley's late defection to Florida necessitated a QB take in the class. He transferred to Tulsa after redshirting his freshman year and started for three seasons with the Golden Hurricane, compiling over 9,400 yards and 81 touchdowns through the air, and gaining another 1,365 yards and 15 touchdowns on the ground.
Undrafted - He signed as a free agent with the New York Jets, who, incidentally, also invited QB Matt Simms - the younger brother of former Longhorn Chris Simms - in for a tryout at their rookie mini-camp.
Aundre McGaskey (class of 2007) - A four-star guard who appeared in several games on special teams but wasn't in the mix to be a starter. He transferred after his redshirt freshman season, and eventually landed at New Mexico State, where he started at tackle for two years.
Undrafted - He is currently a free agent, and seems to have more of a future in fashion than football. On his Twitter page he states, "I'm a Athlete,Student of Life,Fashion Fiend,Clothing line owner...", and his Linkedin page names him C.E.O. of Artistik Mind Clothing (since June 2010). Best of luck to him.
And not worth mentioning at length are those who would have been seniors and draft-eligibles but decommitted, transferred and/or fell off the football map altogether. This group would include: dodged bullet one-time Texas commit Jerrod Gooch, an offensive lineman who signed with Texas Tech and was never heard from again after redshirting his first year; and Andre Jones, a stud class of 2007 defensive tackle who was dismissed from UT after he plead guilty and received deferred adjudication for a home invasion robbery, then floated from UTEP to Division II Tarleton State (where he recorded 29 tackles - including 5 TFL and a half-sack - in 2009), to Navarro Junior College, before signing with Tarleton State again in 2011, but wasn't on their roster last fall.
Did I miss any others?
Shon Mitchell via lbjsports.org
Ricky Williams, Earl Campbell, Priest Holmes, Cedric Benson, Jam Jones, Jamaal Charles, Hodges Mitchell, Eric Metcalf, Steve Worster, Shon Mitchell, Jim Bertelsen, Selvin Young, Fozzy Whitaker, Cody Johnson, Roosevelt Leaks, Chris Gilbert...
These were among the greatest horses who took their turns shouldering the load of the UT running attack. Let us not forget to look back at these names and faces and the images they bring back, and let us smile for a moment as the unique contributions of each replay in succession.
Malcolm Brown, Joe Bergeron, Jonathan Gray...this, this is the future.
Let that smile stay there for awhile and get a little broader.
The ball has not been dropped, so to speak.
The World Wide Leader dropped a new Preseason Top 25 this morning. Texas lands at #22, which in my mind is a little low, considering some of the teams ahead of us. I generally agree with the list for the most part, although teams like Nebraska and Oklahoma State probably should not be in front of us. This is the perfect opportunity to voice your unbridled optimism (or completely unnecessary and unfounded pessimism). What do you think?
